Yesterday was a marathon soapmaking day with over 200 bars poured! 🧼 And thanks to a more streamlined process since moving into this space two years ago, that many bars only takes about three hours 😊

In the middle of it all, I had the sweetest surprise. A friend stopped with her daughter, who had never seen the soaproom or the process before. Which meant I got to do what I love most — talk about soap! 🙌🏼 She even helped cut some bars herself.

It was such a bright spot in my day ☀️ A reminder of how much it means to be surrounded by people who show up and meet me where I’m at.

You may’ve noticed I’ve been quiet here this past week, and that’s not like me.

For six years, I’ve shown up in this social media space almost daily—certainly weekly—sharing this little refillery and the values behind it. But after last week’s post, I found myself sitting with a lot of emotions I didn’t quite know how to put into words.

That post reached more people than anything I’ve ever shared—over 35,000 views compared to my usual 2,000. And if I’m being honest, that’s been a hard thing to process 😔

Not because I’m not grateful—but because it’s stirred up some bigger questions for me.

Why is it that the moments where things feel uncertain or heavy are what travel the farthest?
And what does that say about how we connect, what we respond to, and what it takes for small businesses like mine to be seen? 🤔

This past week has been a mix of gratitude, frustration, reflection, and a lot of wondering about what comes next.

The creativity will return—it always does. I’m still here, still leaning into Spirit, still sitting with what feels most important for my life’s purpose.

Oh and making soap 🧼 of course!

The other day I shared some honesty about where things are at for the refillery—and I’ve been sitting with that ever since.

Something that’s been on my heart is how easy it is (for all of us) to get caught up in urgency… the “grab it before it’s gone” feeling, the excitement of a trend, the pull to stock up while something is popular or hard to find.

But here’s the hard truth: those patterns, while completely human, can be really hard on small businesses built around sustainability.

At the refillery, we’re not here for quick spikes or one-time rushes. We’re building something meant to last—something steady, intentional, and rooted in reducing waste over time. The products we bring in, the way we run the shop… it’s all with long-term sustainability in mind.

We do have some time before any big decisions need to be made, and my hope is to use that time to keep moving toward something truly sustainable—together.

Your support means more than you probably realize. Truly. But what sustains a space like this isn’t a moment—it’s consistency. It’s choosing to refill again next month. It’s returning, even when there isn’t something “new” or trending.

This isn’t about reacting in the short term. It’s about asking: how do we build something that’s still here years from now?

And I believe we can do that—together 🤍

For nearly 5 years, I’ve shown up for this storefront with a full heart ♥️ sharing this dream, building something intentional, and believing deeply in what a refillery can bring to a community ⛵️

Lately, things have felt different.

You may have noticed a few of your favorite products no longer on the shelves, or wondered why new items haven’t been coming in 🤔 The truth is, small shifts like these are part of a much bigger reality happening behind the scenes.

Sales have continued to change each year — and not in a sustainable way 😔

I’ve always tried to keep this space positive and uplifting, but I also believe in honesty 💫 If things continue on this path, this business may not make it past its third year downtown without some kind of change.

This isn’t easy to say.

This space was built with intention ✨ to offer thoughtful products, reduce waste, and create something meaningful right here in our community. And I still believe in that purpose with everything I have 🤍

Right now, I’m taking time to listen, reflect, and seek guidance on what’s next. Whether that means evolving, adjusting, or reimagining — I’m open 🙏🏼
