Peter Gallatin, our Director of Spiritual Care, shares this Spiritual Thought for the Week:

I love watching the snow and ice melt no matter where I am...on a lake, by the river, or even into the storm drain in front of my house.

Nothing stays frozen forever. In our lives sometimes we feel "frozen" unsure of what to do next. We too are invited to trust gentle small movements of our own lives as we begin to "thaw." Each moment can be a moment of renewal, no matter how big or small.

May you recognize the grace in slow melting!

Students from the American Indian Student Council at Detroit Lakes High School stopped by to visit and participate in an art project with our residents. Together they painted Ojibwe flowers!

Residents enjoyed a special Valentine's Day meal on Saturday. Our dining director, Holly, made kabobs and the Boys & Girls Club of the Perham Area made the placemats. Aren't they cute?

Our residents at The Cottage enjoyed a heartwarming activity this week selecting their very own stuffed animal companions and giving them each a special name.

The residents used their creativity to name their new cuddly friends. Activities like this spark joy, encourage storytelling, and create meaningful moments that brighten everyone’s day.

Our residents welcomed back some familiar faces this week! Former Ecumen Detroit Lakes chaplain Peter, along with his wife Jillene and their son Grant, returned for a special visit.

Peter and Jillene shared a thoughtful sermon, reminding us of the comfort and connection found within spiritual community, while Grant delighted everyone with beautiful piano music.

Peter now serves as Ecumen’s Director of Spiritual Care for all our communities, and it was wonderful to reconnect and celebrate the meaningful impact he continues to make across Ecumen.
