Close your eyes for a second and notice your shoulders right now. Are they up by your ears? Is your upper back tight? Are you clenching without even realizing it?

"Carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders" - we say it casually. But your body doesn't know the difference between metaphor and reality.

When you're carrying emotional weight, your shoulders literally hold it.

You've been lied to about postpartum recovery.

"Six weeks and you're cleared!" they say.
As if your body just magically returns to its pre-pregnancy state. As if nine months of massive physical transformation and the most intense event of your life can be undone in 42 days.

The reality is: 6 weeks postpartum is when your uterus has shrunk back and your bleeding has (mostly) stopped. That's it.

It is NOT when:
Your pelvic floor is fully restored
Your core has reconnected
Your nervous system has regulated
Your hormones have rebalanced
Your spine has realigned
You've actually healed

3 signs you can benefit from chiropractic *and they have nothing to do with back pain*. 💚

SIGN #1: Short fuse. Small things set you off. You snap, you're irritable, you can't calm down. Everyone says "just relax" but you CAN'T.
Your nervous system is stuck in fight-or-flight. Your vagus nerve *the main "calm down" nerve* exits at your upper cervical spine - when your upper neck is out of balance, vagus nerve function is compromised and your ability to shift from stress to calm is impaired.

SIGN #2: Shoulders by your ears. Chronic neck, shoulder, upper back tension. Massages help for two days then tension returns.

"My husband, my 20 month old son, and I all receive care at Strive. We started going when my son was 3-4 months old because he had always favored one side when sleeping, rolling, etc. I knew something wasn't quite right and I wanted someone who works closely with children to bring him to. I also had a hard delivery and knew I needed some extra help to get back to my normal. My son and I went in and both received the initial scans, which was super easy. Dr. Chris went into detail and explained everything very well so I understood the results I was looking at. He showed me the WHY behind my son preferring one side and the points where I needed the most help. After a few appointments my husband decided to switch from the practice he was at and has never regretted the decision! He’s a contractor and his job is hard on his body. He always feels so much better after each adjustment and is happy with the decision to switch. The care we receive at Strive has helped my husband and I feel back to our normal selves. My son started sleeping better almost instantly, stopped preferring only one side and is more “regular” every day. We love going to Strive because Dr. Chris and Diane are always so welcoming! They always ask how we’re doing, how our weeks have been, etc. and truly care! If you clench your jaw at night, your pelvic floor is probably tight too.

Did you know that your jaw and pelvic floor have a direct connection to one another?

Your jaw and your pelvic floor are connected through your dura *the membrane running from skull to tailbone*), your fascia *connective tissue web*, and your nervous system. Tension at one end affects the other end.

When your jaw is tight, it creates tension that travels down to your pelvic floor. When your pelvic floor is tight, it travels UP to your jaw.

What this looks like:
You have TMJ pain, jaw clenching, teeth grinding AND pelvic floor dysfunction - incontinence, pain with s*x, tight hips. You're going to the dentist for your jaw and pelvic floor PT for your pelvis. But nobody's addressing the CONNECTION.
Your dentist gives you a night guard.
Your PT gives you exercises.
But if your spine is creating tension at BOTH ends, neither treatment sticks.

You might be thinking that plantar fascitis is just a foot issue, but did you know that your plantar fasciitis didn't start in your foot? It started in your lower back.

You've tried orthotics, better shoes, stretching, foot massages, rest.
Nothing lasts.
Here's why: You're treating the symptom *foot*, not the root cause *spinal compensation*.

Your feet are at the END of the kinetic chain. Everything above - ankles, knees, hips, pelvis, spine - affects how they function.

The compensation cascade:
Lower back misalignment → Nerves from L4-S1 control your feet. When lumbar spine is misaligned, nerve signals are disrupted, muscle imbalances develop, arch collapses, plantar fascia compensates and inflames.

Pelvic tilt → One leg appears "shorter," you bear more weight on one foot, that foot develops pain. Orthotics can't fix the pelvic imbalance creating it.

Hip dysfunction → Gait compensates, feet work harder, abnormal forces break down tissue.

Knee issues → Altered walking mechanics, feet bear weight abnormally, chronic stress.
