I want to let you all know where I am with my massage business:
I used to get $35/$40 an hour for a session. Now with my own regular clients and the auto clients I'm like $80 an hour. It's cool but it's still meh. The consistent clients I have are few. Meeting strangers through apps is ok but very inconsistent. With my own auto clients I can make real and consistent money. Even just one would put me on. Getting a website and some marketing would be ok... but it's like fishing for one kind of a rare fish in a big pond.
Massage is niche, it's female preferred, and auto massage is very niche. I'm blessed to have my connect it's so niche. At this point my plan is to 1 catch up on bills and 2 reinvest in my business again for marketing. But once that pole is cast it can take QUITE some time until I get my own auto clients. Even then, good auto clients are rare because some fall out or auto insurance companies don't want to pay so now we go to court. Again, I'm blessed with my connect.
I think I'm going to cast this pole and go to college. If I can do a dual degree for physical therapy and chiropractology I could be unstoppable. Men get more respect in those fields and the fields themselves have more respect overall. And 4 years after I cast that poll I could be in a nice position with clients and have my degrees!
I'm just not into trying to pedal massage to strangers or people I know. It's too much nickel and diming to me for just $80 a session. Most people get in accidents and get surgeries, see PTs, sometimes get chiropractic work. Yeah, by the time they get to me I fix their issue. But people aren't looking for the massage therapist. In five years I can be the one stop shop with degrees to put respect on my name and show people what they've been missing at the back of the line. When people give me a chance I rock their world but I can't wait for people to see me for what I am, even if I market myself.
It's time to go back to my 2019 mentality and get hungry again. Spring I'm catching up on bills, Summer I'll start marketing 😒(I don't want to because I'd rather just do the work than work asking to work), by Fall I may be enrolled and, hey, maybe finally have my first auto insurance client billed by my own company. If that happens make sure you have socks ready in 4 years because they're getting knocked tf off! Thanks for reading.
