Wayne State University CHECK-UP is now taking applications for the 2025 Community Health Scholars Program (CHSP) cohort. CHSP is a FREE program that will prepare learners to get deeply involved with their community's health through research and provide knowledge and skills to influence community-based research in roles such as advisory board members, consultants, and research personnel. CHSP provides in-depth training to prepare learners to serve as partners and leaders in research.

Community residents who reside or work in metro Detroit and/or the staff of local metro Detroit community-based organizations are encouraged to apply! Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, a formal background in healthcare or research is not required. Research is important in shaping healthcare experiences and innovations and is missing YOUR perspective. All applications must be submitted by April 25, 2025.

This event will be held both in person at the Detroit Public Library (Main Branch) and virtually via Zoom on 📅Wednesday, May 28 from 6-7 PM.

Join us for an insightful discussion led by Karmanos Cancer Institute President and CEO, Dr. Boris Pasche, where he will explore the development of a groundbreaking cancer treatment based on the discovery of tumor-specific radiofrequencies, (similar to the electric signals used in cell phone communications) in patients with cancer.
