Having SICKLE CELL has taught me communication is soo important. How well and effectively I communicate the severity of the pain I’m experiencing has been extremely important on the level of care I receive. No matter how much pain I’m experiencing at the moment I make sure my care team know I am coherent and that I will only accept the best treatment for my pain crisis. Having Sickle Cell Disease does not prevent you from obtaining your goals in life however you will have to work extra hard to achieve them. I’m an optimist and believe that nothing is impossible!!

In today’s world new born babies of color are tested for Sickle Cell. My mom found out from me actually having a crisis. She said I was about 2 years old and refused to go outside to play. When she finally got me outside I collapsed to the ground and had to be rushed to the hospital. It was there they diagnosed me with Sickle Cell Disease. After that Children Hospital became my second home. Please LIKE COMMENT SHARE AND FOLLOW!!!

I wonder how many people take ma*****na, oppose to the pharmaceutical drugs, the doctors prescribe, and which one is more effective, and does insurance pay for ma*****na? I hope everyone is somewhere safe and with love ones! The weather here in Detroit is a mess! I’m praying for the ones without power and for the ones forced to be out in this weather! Sometimes life tries to get the best of you, I mean like disrespect you like you’re nothing, however you CANNOT accept defeat! Sometimes I can be planning the ultimate come up and here comes a crisis reminding me of how sick I am. So I’m forced to put those plans on hold, all the while I’m praying for a speedy recovery! I said that to say this don’t get down on yourself because of a momentary setback. Look at this as an opportunity to critique your plans.

Aye so today was ok. I made a couple of realizations and I’m dealing with them. I know that I’m blunt and sometimes brutally honest even when ppl don’t ask, lol, but I’m accepting my flaws and loving them bcz it’s me it’s who I am. I’d rather be in love with me than to be someone I don’t recognize with you. My name is Synobia which is different than any other so why wouldn’t my personality be different than any other. Point is love you and be you!❤️❤️

I know life can be difficult sometimes however giving up isn’t an option! It’s never too late to become the change you want to see!!
