Nurse-Family Partnership Detroit is an evidence-based community health program. We work to transform the lives of vulnerable first-time moms. Nurse-Family Partnership pairs women with registered nurse who visits them at home during their pregnancy and until their baby is two! The NFP nurse will provide education, support, and resources for the woman and her family.

General information

NFP is a FREE home visiting program for first-time moms living in Detroit. Criteria for the program are: 1) First-time mom 2) Less than 28 weeks pregnant 3) Lives in Detroit Check out the Nurse-Family Partnership goals: Goal 1: Improve pregnancy outcomes by helping women engage in good preventative health practices, including obtaining prenatal care, improving their diet, and reducing their use of cigarettes, alcohol, and illegal substances. Goal 2: Improve child health and development by helping parents provide responsible and competent care for their children. Goal 3: Improve the economic self-sufficiency of the family by helping parents develop a vision for their own future, plan future pregnancies, continue their education, and find work.
