Let’s welcome our latest group of Crisis Intervention Team graduates for the month of February. This months class included a clinical specialist from DWIHN, as well as members of the Detroit Police Department, Detroit Public Schools Public Safety, Detroit Police Transit, Canton Police Department, and Highland Park Police Department. These individuals successfully completed an intense 40 hours of Crisis Intervention Training. They all displayed a great concern for the citizens they serve daily.

Let’s give a big welcome and congratulations to the Crisis Intervention Team class of January 2025. These students successfully completed 40 hours of detailed training to further assist them when they encounter a person who may be experiencing a mental health crisis. They were provided with a plethora of resources to help them achieve a positive outcome for the person in crisis.

The Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN), in conjunction with the following Wayne County Police agencies sent members to attend the December 2024, Crisis Intervention Team 40 hour certification course. The Detroit Police Department, Highland Park P.D, The City of Grosse Pointe P.D, Canton P.D., and Livonia P.D. This amazing group of officers and behavioral health specialists participated and successfully completed 40 hours of detailed training and instructions with the hopes of obtaining a better understanding on how to handle an individual or individuals that may be experiencing a mental health crisis. Please help me congratulate this group who has shown their compassion for helping a person in crisis and make the communities of which they serve a better place to live.

On June 24-28, 2024, Members of the Detroit Police Department, Highland Park Police Department, Dearborn Police Department, and Greektown Casino Security successfully completed a 40 hour Crisis Intervention Teams training. These officers are equipped with unique skills to better assist them when dealing with a person in crisis. Please welcome our latest graduates.

On May 20-24, 2024, we hosted our May Crisis Intervention Teams class. The Detroit Police Department along with other Departments in the Wayne County area are equipping their officers with specialized training to help in their efforts when dealing with a person in crisis.
