Day 3✨
Hoarding: a persistent difficulty parting with or discarding possessions resulting in severe clutter and potential safety issues.

Just as a home can be piled high with trash and items deemed important, so can your mind.

𝙀𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙝𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙨 𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙖𝙨 𝙥𝙝𝙮𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙝𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜.

Emotional hoarding results in past trauma and negative experiences dictating your energy and continuing negative behavioral patterns.

To successfully clean your home and mind
⭐️ Increase Self Awareness- understand your emotions and triggers.
⭐️ Declutter- part first with trash, then move on to the next item you deem significant.
⭐️ Patience- take things one step at a time to avoid increasing anxiety.
⭐️ Compartmentalize- organize your thoughts, feelings and possessions.

✨Day 2✨
We all know the saying "New Year, New Me".
Each year individuals indulge in the idea of creating new versions of themselves which is typically followed with a bunch of goals, ideations, new found discipline and a lot of self-criticism.
By February, the excitement has worn off, the discipline becomes nonexistent, the ideas are now more like distant memories and old habits settle in with ease.
New Year's Resolutions often fail because of mindset. The mindset that you have to beat yourself up in order to be successful. The mindset that you have to push yourself to your breaking point to see results.

𝒀𝒐𝒖’𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅, 𝒘𝒉𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇?

When setting your goals for the year:
⭐️ Be Intentional
⭐️ Be graceful with yourself
⭐️ Have realistic expectations
⭐️ Celebrate the small victories
⭐️ Practice mindfulness and self awareness
⭐️ Challenge yourself without being critical and negative

✨As you embark on your journey
into healing, it's important to understand your own needs. This will help you ask questions and alleviate some of the stress and anxiety associated with finding the right therapist for you.
Something to pause and consider is "What are some immediate concerns that I'd like to address during my sessions?"

That's helpful in figuring out ⬇️
What kind of therapist do I need?
⭐️Preferences: do I have any preference on age, gender, ethnicity, Igbtq+ affirming, religious factors, etc?
⭐️Specialties: does the therapist specialize in the things that are impacting me such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, pregnancy/postpartum, relationships, inner child healing, etc?
⭐️Trainings: is the therapist trained in the techniques and practices I feel could be useful for helping me such as EMDR, IFS, Holistic Therapy, etc?
⭐️Payment: how do I intend on paying for my sessions? Does the therapist accept my insurance?

⬆️This will help you ask some of the necessary questions during your consultation to determine whether the therapist is right for you.
