6 for 5 packages for existing clients are here! You can buy one in person from now to the end of August.

Why are they limited to existing clients? Sub Rosa is a unique experience and I want you to be sure it’s your cup of (iced/decaf/herbal) tea before you invest.

Why am I selling them in person only? Because I am terrible with computers! Adding a phone to the mix is disastrous. That said, if you really can’t make it in, message me and I’ll figure it out.

I’m back and I’m so excited! Just one year ago, I was putting the finishing touches on Sub Rosa and getting ready to open the doors. I can’t believe how lucky I am to experience that same thrill again.

Hours are limited but books are open Wednesdays and Sundays, starting 3/8. I can’t wait!

In October of 2021, Sub Rosa as we know it was nothing but a big idea and a grid of sticky notes littering my desk. As 2022 winds down, Sub Rosa Community Acupuncture is approaching its 800th treatment. 800 treatments- for a business that opened just nine months ago in a secluded location with no patients, no fanfare, and no sign- is a remarkable number.

Even better: each of those 800 treatments represents a peaceful hour that someone chose to carve out of their daily lives to acknowledge and honor the importance of rest.

Each of those peaceful hours represent a contribution to the existence of communal healing. Without your open minds and hearts, your willingness to experience acupuncture in a different way, and your generous word-of-mouth support, offering this medicine in an affordable and accessible way would be impossible.

So thank you for this wonderful year. I’ll be asleep by midnight, but if you’re not, ring the bells that still can ring.

You’ve met Alex, right? If not, it’s my pleasure to introduce Sub Rosa’s roommate at 2000 Brooklyn St., . Alex has been practicing massage therapy for 17 years -- and in addition to being one of the most experienced body workers you’ll find, she’s a registered yoga teacher who offers personalized sessions for every skill level.

Alex and I met in high school (!!!), and I have trusted her with aches, pains, bad moods and joyful secrets alike for over 20 years. Hey there! I will be taking maternity leave in early January, but thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of my fellow practitioners, the lights will stay on at Sub Rosa.

I will be here until January 7th and back in March, and in the meantime you’ll be in the capable hands of Monica Leibson, L.Ac., an experienced acupuncturist who has been serving the metro Detroit community for 20 years.

Hours will be limited, but we will do everything we can to make sure you are able to continue your treatment plans uninterrupted.
