As we continue recognizing National Minority Health Month, we’re taking time to highlight the ongoing impact of health disparities and why advancing health equity remains so important.
Across the United States, the data tells a clear story:
▪️ Racial and ethnic minority groups are more likely to experience chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension
▪️ Black adults are nearly twice as likely to be diagnosed with diabetes compared to white adults
▪️ Hispanic/Latino communities are less likely to have access to regular healthcare and preventive services
▪️ Minority populations are more likely to face barriers such as lack of insurance, transportation challenges, and stigma around seeking care
These disparities don’t just impact physical health, they also affect mental health, access to treatment, and long-term outcomes.
National Minority Health Month is a call to action to:
✔️ Address systemic barriers to care
✔️ Improve access to culturally competent services
✔️ Promote prevention, education, and early intervention
At All Well-Being Services, we are committed to reducing disparities by providing accessible, compassionate mental health and substance use disorder services for all.
Together, we can build healthier, more equitable communities. 💙
