After reading about how impoverished mothers were reusing diapers due to limited resources, that diapers were not covered under assistance programs and that potentially 12,000 children in Wayne County alone needed diapers, she knew she had to act to prevent this ‘sile

nt crisis.’ In September 2011, The Natural Momma Me Initiative Cloth Diaper Bank, which later added disposable diapers as an option, became Wayne County’s only cloth diaper-focused organization and subsequently, a member of the rapidly expanding National Diaper Bank Network. Since then, The Natural Momma Me Initiative has been distributing diapers to babies and children in the Greater Detroit Area. We look forward to being a resource for you and your family! Black Mothers’ Breastfeeding Association is offering a Community-Based Doula Training, nationally accredited by HealthConnect One, MDHHS-approved for Medicaid Reimbursement! 🌟

Join our Information Session on November 12, 2024, from 9:30 - 11:30 AM at McKenny Center in Detroit to learn how you can support mothers during pregnancy, labor, and beyond. 🌷

💼 Requirements include being 18+, owning a vehicle, and attending this session. Earn a stipend up to $800, gain valuable experience, and make a lasting impact in our community. 💜

Black Mothers' Breastfeeding Association is thrilled to announce that our next Community-Based Doula Training Cohort is now OPEN! Upon completing the 20-week session, you’ll become a nationally accredited Doula with all the tools and knowledge to start assisting mamas and babies directly in your neighborhood.

Attending the Community Doula informational session on April 9th is REQUIRED in order to be considered for this program. Please make sure you review the information and requirements carefully before submitting an application so we can be sure that we’re a good fit for each other!
