It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Imam Daayiee Abdullah, a trailblazer of human rights and the first openly gay imam in the United States, yesterday, August 3, 2025 in Bogota, Colombia. He was 71. Please join us in sending condolences to his family, friends, and the many communities that embraced him and his work.

The Toronto book launch for Buusaa Ro'oo, a book on Oromoo language and advocacy written by Barsiisaa Samu'el Shune, was this weekend.

As a member of Oromoo Readers Society and representing (Un)Veiled Divine Tech, Tay gave a speech about Hoodoo, Ayaantuumaa, cultural preservation, and African Americans and other Diasporans learning about details of their Continental African ancestry through spiritual means— for some, this includes East African heritage and spirits.
