We’re so proud to see our amazing Radiology, Neurology, and Neurosurgery teams featured on WXYZ-TV Channel 7 for their innovative use of High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HiFU) to treat essential tremor and tremor-dominant Parkinson’s disease.
This incisionless, real-time treatment is helping patients regain control, improve daily function, and get back to the activities they love — all without traditional surgery.
In addition to treating tremors, focused ultrasound also has exciting potential in brain tumor care. Using low-frequency focused ultrasound, doctors can temporarily open the blood-brain barrier to help chemotherapy reach brain tumors more effectively. At the Henry Ford Hermelin Brain Tumor Center, we are exploring how to bring this promising technology to our patients as part of our comprehensive brain tumor treatment options.
We’re incredibly proud of our teams for leading the way in innovative, compassionate care — and for giving patients new hope and new possibilities.
