Get to know Corktown Health's Dental Director

Dr. Bloxson brings a wealth of expertise and passion to this pivotal role with two decades of experience delivering exceptional patient care and leading performance-driven teams. A graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, she has carved out a distinguished career path. Her success in effectively growing dental programs that achieve clinical and financial objectives while keeping the patient experience at the forefront aligns perfectly with our goal to offer top-tier dental services to our community.


Dr. Bloxson has held leadership roles in diverse practice settings, most recently as Dental Director at The Wellness Plan Medical Centers. She currently serves on the Michigan Primary Care Association Dental Director Advisory Board and the Midwest Network for Oral Health Integration Learning Collaborative. Her expertise in dental management includes quality, customer service, budget development, strategic planning and community engagement. She has overseen dental clinic site development and expansion projects and has acquired and managed numerous public and private grants. In addition, she has engaged with academic partners at the University of Detroit Mercy and Wayne County Community College to establish training sites for future dental professionals. Dr.Bloxson also doubles as a mom of 3, married 20 years to her high school sweetheart.

With Dr. Bloxson at the helm, our Oral Health Program continues exceptional dental care, continue to expand our academic partnerships and foster integration with our medical, behavioral health and preventive health programs. Corktown Health is proud to welcome Dr. Justin, DNP, FNP-BC, AAHIVS, a board-certified nurse practitioner and HIV specialist. As a member of the q***r community, Dr. Justin is passionate about caring for patients in a way that is affirming, respectful, and free of judgment, so they can live their healthiest lives.

His “why” is personal: while working as a flight paramedic, Dr. Justin sought HIV prevention services and experienced discrimination from a healthcare provider. That experience inspired him to return to school to help ensure no one in the LGBTQIA+ community experiences discrimination in healthcare due to sexual orientation or gender identity.

Dr. Justin specializes in q***r health/primary care, gender-affirming care, and HIV prevention and treatment, and is accepting patients in Hazel Park and Detroit.

HEALTHCARE WITHOUT BARRIERS: I mentioned this on Friday Night, but I have the honor of serving as the emcee for Corktown Health's annual gala this evening (Saturday, October 4th, 2025) in Downtown Detroit!
