❄️ Cold Weather Alert – Help Is Available ❄️

With temperatures dropping into the teens and wind chills in the single digits, we are activating overnight shelters and daytime respite locations to help keep residents safe from the extreme cold.

Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries will activate an overnight stand-by shelter at
📍 13130 Woodward Avenue
🕔 Wednesday, January 14 at 5 PM
🕛 Open through Tuesday, January 20, closing at 12 PM

Additional warming centers include:
• Adam Butzel Complex
• Coleman A. Young Recreation Center
🕗 Special MLK Day hours: 8 AM – 9 PM

We will be distributing the coats and more at our 3rd Annual Pancake Breakfast, a hot breakfast for our unhoused community. Please bring donations to either one of our DRP locations.

Brittani is a dedicated Case Manager, whose journey is defined by perseverance, service and a deep commitment to helping others reclaim their lives. She will complete her social work degree at WSU next month. Brittani is passionate about community and advocacy. She’s run for City Council, coached youth sports, facilitated Narcan trainings, served as a speaker at the Harm Reduction Summit and is active in the 12 step fellowship. This year her criminal record was expunged, a powerful step in rewriting her future and proving that recovery is possible. Her proudest accomplishment of all, is regaining custody of her son.
