Next up in our is Dr. Ali Qadri, one of our Administrative Chiefs. As this role, Ali has contributed to the logistics of our program which includes assisting our program director with delegated duties, serving as a liaison between our residents and faculty, and coordinating schedules, meetings, and interviews. Ali and his wife will be moving to down to DC where he will be pursing his Fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital. We’re so proud of you and wish you all the best in your career!

-favorite surgery to perform: Transmetatarsal Amputation and ORIF of Ankle fractures

-why you chose DMC: The volume, diversity and complexity of cases along with an amazing group of attendings makes it a one of a kind program

-favorite moment at DMC: Time spent with attendings who have become family and meeting two of my best friends

-advice for students/interns/juniors: scrub as many cases as possible and ask questions. We are all here to learn so make learning your priority

-what you like to do outside of residency: horse back riding, traveling and photography

-something interesting/fun fact about you: I can play Indian classical instruments such as the tabla and harmonium

Our next is Dr. Naureen Syed, our Academic Chief! As Academic Chief, Naureen has graciously organized many journal clubs, cadaver labs, seminars/lectures, conference preparations and more. We are grateful for your dedication and involvement in our program academics. After graduation, Naureen is going back to the sunshine state ☀️ and joining a private practice in Ft. Myers/Cape Coral area! We wish you all the best in your future career, Dr. Syed!

-favorite surgery to perform: Flatfoot recon or Achilles repair

-why you chose DMC: DMC is a heavy trauma program with lots of autonomy! We work with so many attendings, each diverse in their training, which helps us residents in seeing the different ways a diagnosis can be treated/operated.

-favorite moment at DMC: Seeing my personal growth and confidence over the past 3 years & meeting two of my best friends

-advice for students/interns/juniors: Be humble and eager to learn! Treat each day in the OR/clinic as if you had no attending guiding you to see what you truly know or need to work on

-what you like to do outside of residency: Game nights, volleyball (captain of our DMC volleyball team!), traveling, and painting/digital art

As graduation approaches, we want to kick off our with Victoria Carroll. After graduation, Dr. Carroll will be starting a private practice with her husband who is also a podiatrist! In addition, she will be working part-time in Ann Arbor with an awesome podiatry group! We are proud of you, and wish you all the best in your future! 😊

-Hometown: Born in Sindelfingen, Germany. Moved & completed high school/college in Tampa, Florida

-Favorite surgery to perform: Austin bunionectomy

-Why you chose DMC: When I was a student it seemed like the residents got to perform a lot of surgeries!

-Favorite moment at DMC: Having my son! I think being a mom made me a better physician and being a physician also gives me unique perspective to being a mom ❤️

-Advice for students/interns/juniors: It may be tough, but you’ve made it this far, you’ll get through it!

-What you like to do outside of residency: Horseback riding and yoga!

And our last is Dr. Ali Chami, our Academic Chief! As Academic Chief, Ali has graciously organized many journal clubs, cadaver labs, seminars/lectures, conference preparations and more. We are grateful for your dedication and involvement in our program academics. After graduation, Ali, his wife Helena, and adorable daughter Athena will be staying locally. He will be joining a private practice in Dearborn, MI and work at multiple hospitals and contribute back to DMC! Glad you’re sticking around with us, Ali!

Next up in our is Dr. Shalin Panchigar, our other Administrative Chief. As this role, Shalin has contributed to the logistics of our program which includes assisting our program director with delegated duties, serving as a liaison between our residents and faculty, and coordinating schedules, meetings, and interviews. Shalin also does a great job gathering our residents together for fun activities outside of work and keeping up the morale! Shalin and his girlfriend Jessica will be moving to Alexandria, VA where he will be joining a private practice! We’re so proud of you!
