NSO PARTNERS WITH THE SHUMAKE FAMILY FOUNDATION HOLIDAY HARVEST TO PROVIDE FREE GROCERIES FOR 1,000 PEOPLE

NSO was proud to partner with the Shumake Family Foundation and community partners to host Detroit’s annual Holiday Harvest at Bert’s Marketplace. The harvest provided free groceries and essential food items to over 1,000 Detroit families during the holiday season.

Since 2012, Holiday Harvest has helped ease financial strain for thousands of households while offering dignity, care, and connection. We are grateful to our sponsors, volunteers, and partners whose generosity made this event possible and helped ensure families had what they needed this holiday season.

Cervical health starts with access to regular, preventive care. Routine screenings and checkups can save lives, but only if you’re connected to a trusted primary care provider.

At NSO, we understand that barriers like cost, transportation, and access can stand in the way. That’s why we work to support individuals and families in getting connected to primary care and the resources they need to stay healthy.

This month, we encourage everyone to prioritize their health, schedule a primary care appointment, ask about cervical health screenings, and take an important step toward prevention and wellness.

Thank you to Roberta Heyward and family for their generosity in sponsoring a Winter Wear Giveaway for our Bell Building residents. Along with words of encouragement, they provided 120 package lunches and 120 sets of essential items, including hats, gloves, and toiletries, helping ensure residents had both warmth and practical support during the winter season.
