Life comes at you fast! Especially when you're younger. None of us are born with the skills to process things without attaching a meaning to them and very few of us are given the skills to do this in a healthy manner from our caretakers, if we had any caretakers at all. Symptoms are simply a reflection of your mind and body fighting for your to be alive, and they've done a good ass job if you're still here reading this. Ready to do an even better one? Maybe deal with things in ways that done seem self-sabotaging or that align with goals and outcomes you want for yourself?

Because your mind and body want to do their job of keeping you alive! Congratulations! Your systems work! Maybe, just a little too well. The first step to managing anxiety is realizing that it's not a bad thing. It's that your warning system is that employee that wants to stay after work to make sure the job is done. You know, that coworker who has a question after the Zoom meeting has already ran over.

Just like those people, anxiety is actually beneficial when managed and utilized effectively.

If the first person you ask doesn't have the capacity to show up in the way you're looking for, it's okay. Someone else may, try again. Checklists, calendars, and planners are excellent tools to keep life organized. Thinking ahead is wise. But finding time to live in the moment allows us to rest our minds and recharge.

Special occasions, birthdays, vacations, and other events provide much-needed time to live in the present.

However, find time to pause and be in the moment at any time during the year. Play outside. Create something. Take note of your surroundings. Do regular body scans and check in with yourself. Are you hot? Cold? Hungry? Feeling silly?
