🌸 Women’s Health Week | Day 4: Maternal Health 🌸

Healthy moms mean healthier communities.

Today, we spotlight maternal health—a critical part of every woman’s health journey. From prenatal care to postpartum support, maternal health affects not only women, but entire families.

At the SOS Maternity Network, we are working to ensure that every woman receives the compassionate, equitable care she deserves during pregnancy, birth, and beyond. By implementing best practices, providing transportation, and offering support through our SOS patient navigators, we are working to close care gaps and improve outcomes—one mother at a time.

🌸 Happy Women’s Health Week! 🌸
May 12–18, 2025

We are kicking off this important week by focusing on mental health—a vital part of every woman’s well-being.

Women are more likely to experience anxiety, depression, and stress-related conditions, especially while balancing work, family, care-giving, and personal health. Despite this, mental health challenges are often overlooked or minimized.

Today is a reminder that mental health deserves just as much attention as physical health!

Follow along all week as we highlight key aspects of women’s health—from reproductive care to heart health and more.

This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the trailblazing women who shaped the field of medicine and paved the way for future generations! 🏥✨

From Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler, the first Black woman to earn a medical degree in the U.S., to Dr. Virginia Apgar, who revolutionized newborn care with the Apgar Score, their contributions continue to save lives and inspire change.

At The Office of Women's Health and SOS Maternity Network, we honor their legacy by advocating for better maternal health and supporting women in medicine today. đź’śđź’‰

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month!đź’›

Endometriosis is more than just painful periods—it is a complex, often misunderstood condition that can impact every aspect of life, from daily activities to fertility and overall well-being. Despite its widespread effects, many people struggle for years before receiving a diagnosis, facing dismissal, misdiagnosis, and limited treatment options.

This month, we shine a light on the experiences of those living with endometriosis, advocate for better research and care, and encourage open conversations about reproductive health! 💛✨

As we welcome the holy month of Ramadan, the Office of Women's Health and the SOS MATERNITY Network celebrate this time of reflection, community, and well-being.

To all expectant mothers and women observing Ramadan, we recognize the balance between fasting, nourishment, and maternal health can be difficult. Remember to prioritize hydration, balanced meals during Suhoor and Iftar, and consult healthcare providers to ensure a safe and healthy month for you and your baby.

Wishing everyone a Ramadan filled with peace, strength, and good health! 💙✨

🌍 World Day of Social Justice: Bridging the Gaps in Maternal and Infant Health!

On this World Day of Social Justice, SOS Maternity Network reaffirms its commitment to addressing disparities in maternal and infant health. Across the world, far too many women and newborns face unequal access to quality care, leading to preventable complications and loss.

Every mother deserves safe, respectful, and high-quality care. Every baby deserves a healthy start. Equity in maternal health is social justice in action.

Join us in advocating for policies that prioritize maternal and infant health, expanding access to care, and amplifying the voices of those most affected. Together, let’s save our moms and babies!
