Plum Health DPC Plum Health delivers affordable, accessible healthcare services in Detroit and beyond.

I had a great conversation with Ron Baker and Ed Kless on the The Soul of Enterprise - a fun, wide-ranging discussion on the future of healthcare and Direct Primary Care. 🎙️

At Plum Health DPC, we partner with large employer groups, municipalities, and school districts to serve as an intuitive, responsive primary care resource - physicians, NPs, and PAs - helping lower total cost of care, pull claims out of the insurance pool, and save thousands of dollars per employee, per year. 💰

We talked about our growth across Michigan, the momentum behind the DPC movement, and why more employers and patients are choosing a model built on relationships - not insurance paperwork. 📈

We also dug into the real barriers that still exist - HSA rules, regulatory friction, and what needs to change to unlock broader adoption of this model. ⚖️

If you’re interested in healthcare innovation, subscription-based models, or how we can actually fix access and cost in this country, this is a great listen. 🎧

This is what Plum Health DPC looks like in 2026!

We continue to deliver affordable, accessible, and excellent primary care services to our wonderful patients.

We help restaurant groups, businesses, school districts, and non-profits save money on their overall health care spend while providing a concierge-like level of service to their employees.

When individuals, families, and employer groups engage with Direct Primary Care, it’s a win-win-win for everyone involved.

Proud of Dr. Michael Rozwadowski M.D. and his accomplishments - many people don't know that it takes 4 years of undergraduate study, 4 years of medical school, and 3 years of residencey training to become a board-certified Internal Medicine doctor like Dr. Rozwadowski.

Help us celebrate by sending your kudos to Dr. Rozwadowski!

Dr. Michael Rozwadowski is an Internal Medicine physician accepting new patients in our Plum Health - Royal Oak office at 10 1/2 and Woodward ave, close to the Detroit Zoo, and just north of the I-696 service drive.

Come see why people in Royal Oak love Plum Health!

Finally put some expensive hardware on the walls of the office today! 👍
My first year anniversary at Plum Health passed by about 2 months ago.
I think these degrees went collecting dust for a while because I never thought I’d find a place that I was proud enough of to display them at.
But after a year in the books, I can confidently say I would be happy practicing here for the rest of my career!
I appreciate all the doctors, staff, and patients here that have made practicing medicine so rewarding.

Amazing video from one of our patients, Pamela Burt - shared with permission, of course! 🎥

Pamela cut her finger and came into our office for an urgent visit and laceration repair. Her doctor, Dr. Kayla Hinton, was able to accommodate her with a same-day appointment - no urgent care, no waiting room shuffle, just excellent care when she needed it. 🩺

For our members and employer groups, we generally reduce urgent care utilization by about 75%. When your doctor has time to see you the same day - or next day for coughs and colds - you simply don’t need urgent care nearly as often. 📉

That translates into real savings: typically $250–$400 per urgent care visit avoided. Those dollars matter - for individual families and for the employer groups we serve. 💰

Pamela also shared that we’ve saved her about $24 every time she refills her asthma inhaler. Because we dispense medications at cost, our prices are often 50–90% lower than traditional retail pharmacies - even less than GoodRx or Cost Plus. 💊

That’s why more individuals, families, businesses, school districts, municipalities, and non-profits are choosing Plum Health Direct Primary Care for affordable, accessible, and excellent care. 🌟

Care when you need it — one stitch at a time. 🧵

Shop local – even with your healthcare dollars.

At Plum Health, every dollar you spend directly supports your local community. Your payment goes directly to your doctor, advanced practice provider, nurse, and medical assistant right here in Detroit.

When we send patients for imaging studies, we choose local radiology companies like Regional Medical Imaging or Basha Diagnostics, both based in Southeast Michigan. For sharps disposal, we work with Hospital Network Healthcare Services, a company based in Portage, Michigan. Pathology samples are sent to DirectPath in Bingham Farms.

Most of our specialist referrals go to independent doctors. For example, cardiologist Dr. Savas in Southfield, dermatologist Dr. Carter-Snell in Midtown Detroit, and ophthalmologist Dr. Emmert-Buck in Pontiac are all independent providers offering affordable, cash-pay rates.

Whenever possible, we intentionally work with locally owned clinics, doctor’s offices, and healthcare companies. Not only do these organizations provide high-quality and cost-effective care, but they are run by people invested in the well-being of their neighbors.

As my friend Rachel Lutz highlighted in a recent post about retail shopping:

“For every $1 you spend at a local, independent shop, nearly 70¢ stays in your community. When you shop at a local chain store, about 35¢ stays. Shopping online keeps less than 1¢ local.”

The same principle applies to healthcare. Supporting an independent doctor’s office ensures more money stays in the community, unlike some large healthcare providers owned by out-of-state, for-profit entities.

Choose care that not only prioritizes your health but also invests in your community.
