Update from the Association of University Centers on Disabilities

The Senate just moved forward with a 2026 budget that protects funding for UCEDDs. This is largely due to strong national advocacy and bipartisan support. Advocates say this is a step in the right direction, but more advocacy is needed as this budget now heads to the House.

What's Next?
The House is working on their version of the budget now. Final decisions are coming soon, and we need you to continue the momentum you've built.

We're so proud of KUCD Research Aide Sean Tyree for sharing his story! Today, Sean testified on Capitol Hill before the Joint Social Security and Work & Welfare Subcommittee.

The hearing discussed services and supports and how to remove barriers to work for people with disabilities. Sean shared about his own career journey and the importance of supports and services for people with disabilities.
