Listen and support this worthwhile cause LEAD: Let's Empower, Advocate, and Do

We’re honored to be featured this week on Healthy Living with YogaAnita on WLPZ 95.1FM. 🎙 Listen here: https://youtu.be/q_36tAcvQh0?si=BgD7ZQwCQuqPRDLm

LEAD Board Directors Kyrah Altman and Shari Duffy joined Anita to share the story behind LEAD (Let’s Empower, Advocate, and Do) and the legacy of Megghan Duffy.
Megghan and Kyrah founded LEAD while still in high school. In the wake of Meg's cancer diagnosis, they discussed how few resources exist for young adults navigating terminal diagnoses.
After Megghan’s stage 4 diagnosis at just 23, her commitment to mental health advocacy only deepened. Today, LEAD continues her mission by providing free mental health resources and coping tools for young adults facing life-altering diagnoses.
💛 We are currently gathering feedback to expand our FREE e-course, known as Megghan's Course, beyond Massachusetts to reach young adults globally.

When a Guest Ghosts You: A Yoga Lesson in Letting Go

As the host of Healthy Living with Yoga Anita, I’m fortunate to talk with many inspiring guests—people from the healing arts, nonprofits, and individuals with powerful life stories. Most of the time, the conversations are meaningful, uplifting, and fun.

But every once in a while, something else happens.

Recently, I scheduled a guest for my show. We set the time, confirmed the details, and I prepared for the interview. When the time came… they simply didn’t show up. No message. No explanation. Just silence.

If you host a podcast, teach classes, or run a business, you know how disappointing that can feel. You invest time and energy preparing. You show up with enthusiasm. And when someone doesn’t honor that commitment, it can sting.

For a moment, I felt that familiar wave of frustration.

Then I remembered something yoga has taught me over the years.....

Shout out to Chief Robert Sideleau on his retirement from Leominster Fire Department.

As Deputy Chief Gary Ranno says, "He was probably the most progressive Chief in our department's history. With the Mayor 's and the City Council's help, he replaced most of our old equipment, took the old plastics museum and turned it into a state of the art dispatch center, and started an extremely successful paramedic program."

Ranno adds, "He was very aggressive in his fight for our and the city's safety. Chief Sideleau's command at fires or major incidents was very calm and included great direction."

Happy Retirement, Chief Sideleau!

Feeling stressed? Try this reset.

Inhale for 4… hold for 4… exhale for 6.
Longer exhales calm your nervous system and relax your shoulders, neck, and back.
One minute. That’s it.
Small resets create big results.”

Got a minute? You’ve got time for your health.

This week on Healthy Living with Yoga Anita, I’m joined by Shari Duffy and Kyrah Altman of LEAD (Let’s Empower, Advocate, and Do Inc.).

When Shari’s daughter, Megghan, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at just 23 years old in January 2020, her mission didn’t stop — it grew stronger. Years earlier, Megghan and Kyrah had founded LEAD while still in high school after recognizing the lack of resources and support for young people and families facing a terminal cancer diagnosis.

A graduate of , Megghan was passionate about mental health advocacy and became a mental health counselor. Today, LEAD honors her legacy by providing free resources, mental health support, and coping strategies to young adults navigating life-altering diagnoses.

💛 LEAD is currently gathering data to measure the effectiveness of their FREE course — and they need participants and feedback to help expand beyond Massachusetts and reach people nationwide and globally.

👉 Take Megghan’s Course (FREE):

To support the mission, Shari also publishes adult coloring books through ShariB Creatives on Amazon, with all proceeds going directly to LEAD to keep the course free.

Let’s shine a light on this beautiful legacy of empowerment, advocacy, and love.
