Beware of signs of heat stroke

This heatwave is bringing dangerously high temperatures to much of the eastern U.S. Look out for these symptoms, as they could be signs of heatstroke in dogs.

🔥Panting
🔥Vomiting
🔥Diarrhea
🔥Restlessness
🔥Bright red gums

If your dog is experiencing signs of heat stroke, call your primary veterinarian immediately. French and English bulldogs, or dogs with thick coats, are especially prone to getting heat stroke.

🐾 Pet owners should walk their pets during the morning or evening when the sun is less intense. Limit outdoor time and strenuous exercise during the hottest parts of the day.

💧Ensure your pet has access to fresh, clean water and shade. Both are crucial to prevent heat stroke.
