At the Stanford Cancer Center South Bay in San Jose, California, the laboratory team achieved a significant breakthrough in efficiency. They were facing a high volume of complex cancer cases, an overwhelming number of calls from doctors inquiring about test results, and a staff burdened by a surge in tasks. The team found a solution in CLSI AUTO15.

By successfully implementing the autoverification methods outlined in AUTO15, the laboratory reduced turnaround time for general chemistry tests, minimized unnecessary communication between laboratory and medical staff, and allocated human resources to areas where they were most needed. This transformation streamlined operations, and ensured that every patient received the best possible care.
