I hope more companies follow their lead……
🍫 🍭 🍬 Hershey’s just announced a game-changer: they’re eliminating artificial dyes from all their candies by 2027, reformulating fan-favorites like Jolly Ranchers, Twizzlers, Reese’s Pieces, and Hot Tamales with natural, plant-based colors. Artificial dyes like Red 40 and Yellow 5 offer no nutritional benefit, serving only as marketing tools to enhance visual appeal, yet they can harm many people, particularly kids and adults sensitive to them, impacting immune and nervous systems with issues like hyperactivity, allergies, or behavioral challenges. While sugar in candies still needs to be limited for overall health, removing unnecessary dyes is a critical step toward safer treats. Aligning with FDA guidance and consumer demand for transparency, Hershey’s move follows similar shifts by brands like Mars and Nestlé, signaling an unstoppable ripple effect across the food industry. As consumers push for cleaner ingredients, we’re witnessing a transformative wave reshaping our favorite snacks.
