Julie believes that all people are creative geniuses, if given the right support. It is her intention to give writers that support in her workshops. In “Release Your Body’s Stories”, Julie helps writers locate their unique, imaginative selves. Then, through clustering exercises, writers are able to access the material in their right brains/subconscious minds. Timed writing prompts lead writers ever deeper into the natural creativity that lies dormant inside them. If writers feel comfortable, they have the option to read their work aloud, and receive others’ gut reactions. Julie leads these discussions using her Amherst Writers & Artists training, to keep writers emotionally safe.

With gratitude, we acknowledge the Anishinaabe—the Ojibwe (Chippewa), Odawa (Ottawa), and Potawatomi (Bodewadmi)—and the Wyandot (Huron) peoples whose histories, languages, and wisdom are rooted in this region. May we listen, learn, and walk in right relationship with the land and one another. 🪶🌿
