At Call the Car, we believe everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, and that starts with raising awareness and supporting those affected by kidney disease.

The Southern California Kidney Walk, hosted by the National Kidney Foundation, is more than just a walk – it’s a powerful movement to fund lifesaving research, patient education, and support services for the millions battling kidney disease.

All efforts help to improve early detection and treatment and promote kidney health education across communities.

So, how can you help? Call the Car is sponsoring the Southern California Kidney Walk for the eighth consecutive year and is aiming to hit a $6,000 goal. If you would like to donate, fundraise, or take part, please click here: https://www.kidneywalk.org/socal/CTC.

🚐 Call the Car is heading to Dallas!

We’re excited to attend the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Accreditation Commission, Inc Transform 2025 Conference next week — the premier annual event for the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) industry.

As the central gathering for over 800+ industry professionals, Transform 2025 brings together providers, brokers, regulators, and healthcare leaders from across the country to explore the future of NEMT. The event features keynotes, panels, and rare opportunities to hear directly from the decision-makers shaping the industry.

We’re especially proud to share that our Senior Director of Operations, Kurt Tomongin, will be speaking alongside fellow industry leaders Chase Lafferty and Tyler Pinson on the panel titled: "Raising the Bar: Accreditation as a Catalyst for Standardization, Compliance, and Innovation."

Together, they’ll explore and discuss the impact of NEMTAC accreditation – how it’s driving operational excellence across the industry, its real-world effect on the growth and service quality at Call the Car, and what the future holds for NEMTAC-led innovation.

As one of the earliest organizations to adopt NEMTAC accreditation, Call the Car has been a long-time supporter of its mission and community. While we won’t be exhibiting this year, we look forward to reconnecting with industry colleagues and contributing to the conversation.

See you all in Dallas!

Whether it’s through one-on-ones, manager check-ins, annual reviews, onboarding sessions, or exit interviews — we prioritize regular and consistent employee feedback. Here’s why it matters:

✅ Uncover ground-level insights
Our employees have first-hand knowledge of member care, workflows, and systems. Their feedback helps us identify issues early and make informed improvements.

✅ Foster a culture of openness
When feedback is welcomed and acted upon, trust grows. Employees are more likely to share ideas and raise concerns, knowing their voices are heard.

✅ Support growth and performance
By understanding how our teams work, we can provide targeted support, training, and mentorship — helping individuals grow and thrive.

When employees feel heard, supported, and empowered with development opportunities, retention naturally improves.

These feedback-driven practices are a key part of the work our HR Director Rene Torres and our employee-led Culture Club have championed over the past year — and we’re proud of the culture it’s helping to build.

At Call the Car, our employee-led Culture Club meets regularly to discuss how we can best support our Call the Car team and arrange regular activities to boost morale.

This month, to honor the friendships within our Call the Car team and strengthen our workplace, we held a “Twin Day” event. All our Call the Car team members dressed up with their workplace bestie in honor of Friendship Day.

The teamwork and bonds we build with each other at work really do reflect how we care for our members and partners at Call the Car.

Let’s celebrate the connections that keep our company moving forward – and have some fun while we’re at it. Here are some of our favorite photos from the day.

Call the Car began with the mission: to help patients get to and from dialysis appointments safely, reliably, and with dignity. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of meeting and caring for thousands of incredible people living with kidney disease – and we understand the vital role our kidneys play in overall health.

Your kidneys work around the clock to keep your body in balance, and they often don’t show signs of trouble until the damage has already been done. So, here are a few simple ways to protect your kidneys’ health:

📍Stay hydrated
📍Watch your blood pressure
📍Limit salt and processed foods
📍Get tested if you’re at risk - and your family have a history of kidney disease.
📍Make sure you only take the prescribed amount of painkillers

Join Us in the Fight Against Kidney Disease – Help Us Reach Our $6,000 Goal!

We’re proud to announce that Call the Car is sponsoring the Southern California Kidney Walk for the eighth consecutive year! This year’s walk will be held at Griffith Park in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 28 — and we need your help to make the biggest impact yet.

As many of you know, individuals on dialysis make up the core of the communities we serve. That’s why supporting the National Kidney Foundation and the Kidney Walk is so close to our hearts. It’s more than just sponsorship — it’s our commitment to improving the lives of those battling kidney disease.

This year, we’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal of $6,000, and we’re asking for your support to help us reach it. Whether it’s a one-time donation, a personal fundraising campaign, or joining the walk, every dollar moves us closer to making a real difference.

Our Call the Car team — along with their friends and families — will be walking and hosting a booth at the event. We’ll be handing out fun giveaways and sharing how your donations support critical research, patient services, and public education on kidney health.

Earlier this month, we fired up the grill and hosted a BBQ celebration for our Call the Car team as a thank you for their ongoing commitment to making CTC a great place to work.

The BBQ marked the start of our Spirit Week, a regular Call the Car event where our different CTC teams dress up and express what makes their team so unique for a week. This month, our team dressed up for a Tropical Paradise Day, CTC Pride Day, On Wednesdays We Wear Pink Day, Throwback Thursday, and took part in a Sports Day to close the weeklong event.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, and a special shout out to our Drivers across LA and the surrounding areas who joined us for our BBQ in person. Our Overnight staff also enjoyed their own treats and celebrations on shift during the nights.

A big thank you again to our CTC team who took part up. Here are some photos from our latest Spirit Week.
