CERT Volunteer Opportunity!
We have been asked to continue to assist in donation procurement in Texas City over the next 3 days. The new donation collection site will now be in Texas City at the 4B DRN (Disaster Response Network) location which is located at 2700 Texas Avenue. We’ve confirmed with John Eckberg, Executive Director, that they will be running operations daily, Wednesday through Friday, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and would welcome any additional help our team can provide.
The volunteer work will remain the same, which is to greet, receive, and sort donations of many kinds to loaded and delivered to Comfort, TX this weekend. This will also involve some lifting of objects with varying weight and sizes. Please wear your CERT shirt and CERT vest. Gloves are recommended as well. Water for hydration and shelter for heat stress will be provided to ensure the safety of the volunteers.

Galveston County CERT

Our Community Emergency Response Team was “restarted” by Galveston County Commisioners in 2013. Our goal is to help provide training and events to assure that our county is prepared in an emergency. This page offers tips on preparedness, as well as dates and times of all CERT meetings and events. We will also post information when we have an incident.

Thank you to everyone for checking out our CERT page. Please feel free to ask us questions. We are here to help!
