I have been hearing about a lot of people with the flu lately. Let's talk about that.
If you or your family are dealing with it, a few natural supports can help your body recover:
• Rest: your immune system needs energy to heal
• Fluids: water, herbal teas, and broth help prevent dehydration, ginger and turmeric are anti-inflammatory, and raw honey and lemon can be soothing for sore throats
(stay away from sugary drinks, energy drinks, soda and juices unless you are juicing at home with whole fruit and veggies)
• Nourishing foods – fruits including citrus, berries, and leafy greens provide vitamin C and antioxidants; onions, garlic and leeks are a good foundation to build your immune system; soups made with bone broth and vegetables support your gut health and immune system
• Support your lungs – humidifiers, warm showers, and high quality essential oils in a diffuser ease congestion
