Yoga & Recovery— Reasons to practice:

You grew up in an abusive household (verbal, physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect). You stuff your feelings in fear of one day blowing up anger. You rarely take breaks. You do not get enough sleep. You listen to everyone else's problems and they disappear when it is your turn to speak. You care what other people think of the real you. As your teacher, Christina will guide you to experience yoga in every aspect of your life. On the mat, she will give you "hands on assistance". This will guide your postures in the right direction for growth and healing. Christina will teach you how to use your breath to move and feel your prana (life force energy). With that, you will work toward balance. Naturally, you will learn about the chakras, aromatherapy, how nature and animals speak. Christina will teach you how to connect with your spirit guides of highest intention for your soul's purpose. You will most certainly learn history, philosophy and all 8 limbs of yoga. The goal of Yoga & Recovery is returning to your true self. Your natural state of being. Meditation is key.

So, I took Michelle's class this morning at my studio. Number one, I am so thankful to have a morning class offered on Thursdays at 11am. This is the first group class in several years. The practice is an hour and a half long. Stretching, breathing and each posture flowing well into the other. The class ended in a 30 minute mantra meditation that left me feeling extremely light filled. I was so relaxed and energized from the practice, I felt no need to breathe and I was so aware of my body and mind. I am still feeling the affects and know it was so beneficial to my recovery. If you have time, mark your calendar and sign up for next week. I know I will.

Well friends it looks like my 72 hour fast was a success. High nutritional ketosis and I feel very alert. It’s hard to explain. I am posting a picture of some good veggies that I put in a crockpot. I will start off in just a little bit with some bone broth and just sip on it. The soup will be ready after that. And I wanna end with just reminding you that fasting is not for everyone and especially prolonged fasting, especially if you have diabetes. I would recommend anything more than 24 hours be under medical supervision, especially if you’re new to fasting. If you are planning on striving to get your body in ketosis or if you want to reap the benefits of a prolonged fast. I’m hoping that I left some insight here to get you started at least. Always feel free to contact me anytime and I will do my very best to help you. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday afternoon and thank you for tuning in ❤😍🙏🏼😘️

Good morning Yogi’s 🙂. Nearly 63 hours . of fasting. My ketones are at 4.1 which is a very high level of nutritional ketosis. I plan on breaking my fast this afternoon starting with bone broth. I will spend the day relaxing because that’s about all I can do overall I feel pretty good however just a little tired. I will post again when I’ve got a little food in my belly lol.

So I am now at 48 hours. I still feel pretty good however I’m not doing anything strenuous. I am relaxing with my feet elevated. Ketones 1.4. The next 24 hours I will focus on just simply hydrating and relaxing. I’ll get a good nights sleep and I will post another update in the morning.

Rise and shine❤️. This morning , I have reached 38 hours of fasting. I checked my blood sugar and it’s good:). I ckecked my ketones and I am in nutritional ketosis. This is great because my body is using fat for fuel and all of the good things I mentioned in the last two posts are happening. This ketone mojo monitor is great to have because you can monitor at this point morning and evening. I’ll check again at 48 hours and update y’all 😊

Good afternoon Yogis. So as we deepen our practice, we learn more about the yogic diet. I myself do not believe I should tell you what and how to eat because we are all so different. I can however share some facts that may help you on your journey to understanding your "yogic diet". Ultra Processed foods are ultimately not good for us. We want to eat Whole Foods and minimally processed foods which come from nature. If you are looking to reset, intermittent and or prolonged fasting will do just that.
I am coming up on 24 hours fasting with just water with electrolytes. I feel good and will continue for another 48 hours. My goal is to reach peak autophagy and get into ketosis. I will break my fast with 1. bone broth 2. probiotic food 3. lightly cooked veggies and a little protein.
Like I said, I can't tell you exactly what to eat, but I can tell you fasting will set you up so that eating a bit healthier will not be a challenge. Once you reset, you will feel less desire for "junk food". Your body will gain so much in the process as well. Remember to contact me with any questions or even concerns. Fasting is free. Your breath is free. So unless you have underlying conditions, go for it.

Happy New Year! Feeling the need to reset? Join me for a prolonged water fast. I am starting 72 hours now (3 days), however 24 hours is very helpful. My fast will end on Sunday at around 5pm. I will post an update each day to let you know how it's going.
Fasting is amazing for 24 hours: Intestinal stem cell regeneration, GABA production, brain healing and autoimmune healing. 48 hours: Resets dopamine receptors, reduces anxiety and depression, anti-oxidant production and HGH increases by 500%. 72 hours: Peak autophagy, immune stem cells, musculoskeletal stem cells, chronic conditions and accelerated healing.
I try to do 72 hours a few times a year since dealing with ridding cancer from my body. I do this to improve my overall health and to aid in remission and recovery. If you have underlying chronic conditions, I would not advise prolonged fasting without Medical Supervision. It is not for everyone. If you are healthy and need a reset though, Let this motivate you. You are more than welcome to contact me with questions or if you need more information. I can definitely lead you in the right direction.
Water fasting is drinking clear water with electrolytes (minerals). One to three liters per day. When your fast is over, It is good to break it with bone broth and maybe a little fruit. Then later, a little protein maybe. www.yogaofdickson.com contact me by email: jazzkak@gmail.com . Call or text 615-202-3332 if you need even just cheerleading:). Namaste
