There’s something so special about slowing down and making things from scratch. Today was filled with laughter, teamwork, and plenty of shaking as we turned simple ingredients into homemade butter. From curious first tastes to proud smiles, this hands-on activity brought back sweet memories while creating new ones together. We are looking for volunteers to help make Father’s Day extra special for the men at NHC Dickson by participating in our Father’s Day Car Show on June 19th at 2:30 PM!

Whether you have a classic car, muscle car, truck, Jeep, motorcycle, or a ride you’re proud of — we would love for you to come share it with our residents. Your time and kindness can bring back memories, spark conversations, and truly make someone’s day.

This week, we asked our patients and residents what the key to staying young at heart was. Their answers reminded us that it has very little to do with age and everything to do with how you live.

Today, our patients and residents were asked one simple question: “What is one thing you wish everyone knew?”

Their answers were honest, heartfelt, and full of wisdom — reminders to slow down, be kinder, cherish family, appreciate your health, and never take life for granted. Behind every resident is a lifetime of stories, love, resilience, and experiences that deserve to be heard.

These moments remind us that our patients and residents are so much more than a diagnosis or an age. They are people who have lived incredible lives and continue to teach us something new every day.
