While with my team USA Patriots Amputee Athletics in Tiger Town. I had the opportunity to talk to some of the staff and players during my spring training. During my talk I realized a lot of these players are the age I was while I deployed to Iraq in 2003-2004 at 19 years old. I touched upon the uncertainties life throws at you and the fact of there is no perfect journey. Throughout my talk I sprinkled bits of inspiration and reasons of why to never give up. Thanks for hosting my team and I. Good luck this season.

What an unforgettable experience this was. I got invited to join WILD Jaeger Veteran Adventures, Inc. which ended up in bringing me to Maryland. I’ve been hunting for 5 years and only use my TenPoint crossbow. This is my first buck. Everything that went into making this hunt possible just comes down to the good lord. 🏹🦌🙏🏼. Thank you Ricky and John for trusting in me to hit the mark. Big thanks to Michael for being my teammate and catching it all on camera.

BIG congratulations to Greg Reynolds on getting his Whitetail mount back from a WJVA hunt we did a few years ago down in Maryland (Photo 1 of 2).

Thanks for sharing Greg. We gotta link up again one of these days. (Ricky Mills)

Had the wonderful opportunity to join in an elementary school Flag Day ceremony with a few of my teammates recently. To say it was moving is an understatement. From the pledge of allegiance to the singing of each grades chosen song in honor of Flag Day. My teammates and I got to share some of what the flag means to us. Very moving experience. These kids were dressed red, white, blue, theme. It was really nice to see. Gave me hope to see these kids and staff all on the same page of what Freedom means. 🇺🇸 WWAST NY

16 years ago today is a stark reminder of such a devastating moment in my life. Today my gratitude is fuller than ever. To remember where I was to where I am now is nothing short of a miracle 🙏🏼. I remember not wanting to live anymore as crazy as that sounds now. Depression was a black cloud that would engulf me and I was just so broken. My journey continues on as I embrace the sprinkles of hardship throughout my life now as a fore-quarter amputee. I’ve heard a lot of things in the beginning and even now that were said to me that were not possible. If you believe it’s impossible then it will always be impossible. I refuse to quit and will always seek out and achieve my objectives. I want to encourage anyone and everyone who’s in a hardship or rough space to know it’s temporary and the pain doesn’t last forever. Just continue to move forward, set attainable goals, refuse to quit, & always find the positive. Thank you to my mom
and brother who were pivotal pieces in my recovery & everyone who’s been a part of my journey 🙏🏼🇺🇸. My daughter will one day understand why her Daddy does 1-arm pushups. 💪🏽 This Alive Day I’m blessed to be with my wife and kids!

I want to say how proud I am of my friend Ben! I met Ben about 10 years ago at a softball game I was playing in NH. He later on would attend the USA Patriots Amputee Softball Team kids camp. He has continued to excel at his goals and lets nothing stop him. Here is a recent story with him getting called up to play on his Varsity’s baseball team. Keep going Ben. We’re all proud of you.

Absolutely love this! Pete Gray was the example of no limitations. I’ve learned early on in my injury that there were arm amputees before me and they have figured out ways to live and win at what they do. So remember if you think you’re the only one in a specific situation, odds are you’re not.

I got invited to go on a bow hunt for white tail deer in Maryland in November of 2022. Planned 10 months in advance I was excited. I have been bow hunting for 6 years leading up to this. I have never been able to get a buck. As life would have it I got real sick and had to be hospitalized. I remember laying on the hospital bed being in so much pain, I told myself I was either going to survive or die. My scheduled hunt was not even a thought. Miraculously I healed up thank you Lord. In short it was the hunt of a lifetime. Thank you Ricky and John for a memory of a lifetime. Plus thanks to my friend Michael for coming on team 🦌 🏹 All the laughs were an added bonus. Thank you all who were involved.
