Door update: Too often we have had to apologize for the door not unlocking. We do apologize greatly! We also are grateful for your support. We have done several things to work on this system and wanted to keep you informed:
A few months ago we got a brand new fob swiping system. Worked well until the electric strike plate went bad last week. I suppose it would eventually it was 15 years old.
Thursday, Polk's Locks came out and replaced the bad electric strike on the door which was causing the door to not unlock with active membership fob swipes.
A month ago we started the transition to get away from Mediacom and going with Tyson, we are not sure that Tyson is fully set up yet, because they have to dig in the ally.
This morning we went out and power wires were loose under the desk for the 5v adapter running the unit that communicates between memberships and the door. That was a weird deal there but an easy fix.
In addition, we spoke with the door opener company and we can hopefully get an update to the system that we will be able to remotely open the doors when there are issues as long as there is internet. This is more for fobs that are broke, or not working, people forgot to reup their membership etc.
We believe other than the fluke deal this morning, which was terrible timing that the door system is essentially new and with the new internet coming that issues should really subside. After 15 years it was time for some updates!
