“Isn’t it just easier to not eat certain foods?”⁠

For some people in some situations at certain points in their journey: yes.⁠

But this choice to abstain doesn’t have to be permanent. Once they develop a range of habits, many people can shift from abstaining from certain foods to having them in moderation.⁠

The point? There are different strategies that can help get you to your goals... without making you feel bad along the way.⁠

🏋 Training Tip Tuesday 🏋

Did you know your daily workout only accounts for about 10% of the calories you burn each day?

So if you’ve ever started a workout routine and felt frustrated that the scale didn’t budge (🙋‍♀️me), this might be why.

Exercise is incredibly important—but not because it burns a ton of calories. It’s what helps you build strength, improve body composition, boost your mood, and live a longer, healthier life.

But when it comes to fat loss, nutrition does the heavy lifting. Eating fewer calories than you burn is what creates real change on the scale.

So yes—working out matters. But it’s okay to miss a workout sometimes. You didn’t blow your progress. Just keep focusing on your habits, and keep moving forward. 💪

Why Real. Simple. Fitness.?

I believe that physical fitness, along with good, real food are two aspects of self care that will lead to a healthier version of yourself, both physically and mentally. You will notice your daily chores getting easier as you become stronger, and your recreation becoming more enjoyable as you increase your endurance. Your mind will be rewarded with clarity and focus and you will feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment as you progress in your training. I continue to experience these things in my own life and look forward to working with you so that you do too.
