Karina Dugand is a certified Health, Fitness & Life coach whose overall vision is to help others build stronger bodies and minds, reduce stress, lift their spirits, and bring more joy into their lives so they can achieve that better, stronger, healthier, happier version of themselves in 90 Days using the CSD3 method. The CSD3 method is a three component system created to transform their relationship to food, body, and lifestyle, through:

With the relentless demands of work and life responsibilities, we find ourselves struggling in the pursuit of trying to transform our health and bodies and we are looking for something greater. Sometimes we don’t know what to do to change, but more often it’s that we are stuck in a rut and don’t know how to get out of it.

95% of our behavior occurs out of habit, either unconsciously or in reaction to external demands. That’s why we struggle to make lasting changes and even when the need for change is obvious and our intentions are strong, we often fall short. That’s a problem, and most of what the diet and health industry can offer is “Eat fewer calories and exercise more”. If that worked, it would’ve worked. Did you know that 98% of dieters gain the weight back? And that the average person makes the same health-related New Year’s resolutions ten separate times without success? Why is that? Because they don’t have support and accountability.​

Doctors, dietitians and other practitioners don’t have the time or the skills to help people stay motivated and follow through to get a lasting result. So, people default to their set habits, even when they know those habits make them feel lousy. Without the right system, support and accountability, this dysfunctional cycle will continue and, in many cases, get worse. That’s where Health/Life coaches like myself come in, to provide the right SYSTEM, SUPPORT and ACCOUNTABILITY so you can-finally- make that transformation you desire and to help you achieve what you want in your life.​

No tricks or magic potions will influence the way your body looks and feels. A beautifully shaped and tight physique, a healthy lifestyle that allows you to enjoy life to the max requires an individualized program consisting of serious resistance training, cardiovascular exercise and an adherence to a diet filled with whole foods, low in fat, and high in protein and complex carbohydrates. Through my personalized one on one training program, you will get all this in the privacy and comfort of a fully equipped studio. I put my clients though a process that teaches and helps to create lasting changes which will improve their lives. As your coach, I will teach you, I will guide you and I will push you. 3️⃣ Dance at Zumba with Karina: If somebody were to ask me, what things has always been a part of my life? Without even thinking, I would say, “Fitness and Dancing”. I grew up in a musical country, in a family where music was always present. I danced since I was a child. I was always a part of my school dance team, took private classes, and gave private and public dancing presentations as a group, as well as couple dancing. It was not only a way of life; it also brought me tremendous satisfaction. Today, thanks to ZUMBA, I can enjoy that passion once again and share it with others. While incorporating DANCE into my fitness routine, I am also offering the BEST cardiovascular exercise there is, “high energy interval cardio training” and ZUMBA gave me the opportunity to teach and share with everyone, all the fun, energy and benefits that cardiovascular exercise can bring, all while “having a blast”! 15th Annual — and Final — Zumba with Cheryl & Karina Breast Cancer Fundraiser.

This one is hard to write, friends. After 15 incredible years of dancing, sweating, and raising funds together, our beloved Party in Pink with Cheryl & Karina will be taking its final bow.

This year’s event is more than just a fundraiser, it’s a celebration of friendship, love, and the power of community. My Zumba sister, Cheryl, is retiring and beginning a brand-new chapter out of California. My heart aches knowing we won’t be side by side leading class anymore… yet it rejoices because I know new beginnings are waiting for her.

For 15 years, we’ve shared not only a stage but a deep soul-level friendship. Cheryl has been my partner, my sister, my cheerleader, and one of the biggest gifts Zumba ever brought into my life. Though our dances together will end, our bond will continue across the miles. 💞

So this October 25th, from 9–11 AM at the beautiful Trilogy in Brentwood, CA, we’re asking you, our friends, family, and supporters, to join us for one last dance, one last Party in Pink, one last morning to raise our voices, our hearts, and our energy for a cause that touches us all.

The other day one of my longtime clients said:
“I’ve never had an easier time keeping my weight in check, without starving myself or stressing about the scale, than I do now. I dieted my whole life… until I found resistance training and learned what works for my body.”

No sugarcoating 😎

Dieting = jail. Rules, misery, plotting escape… then back in again. 😩

The way out? Quit chasing fads and miracles. Build habits you can actually live with: eat a balanced, nutrient dense diet, lift weights, move in ways you enjoy. And the secret sauce: Make friends with yourself. 💛
Treat your body with love and respect. Healing your relationship with food and your body is the key.

Action step: Today, make a promise to yourself, to treat your body like someone you truly love, with compassion, patience, and respect. Your body is the only home you have for the rest of your life, and your relationship with yourself is the longest and most important relationship you’ll ever have. Everything else flows from that.
Start there, and the rest will follow.

REFLEXIONES: How to Handle Change (Fitness + Life).

Lately I’ve been thinking about change. It reminds me a lot of being on a bike ride. Sometimes the road is smooth, easy, and familiar. Other times, it’s bumpy, uphill, or takes a turn you didn’t expect. And honestly, most of us resist those turns. I know I do. We like the routes we know, even if they’re not really taking us where we want to go.

But if we want better health, a stronger body, meaningful relationships, or personal growth, we can’t just coast. Change is the price of admission for moving forward.

Here are the 4 things I keep coming back to on this ride:

1️⃣ Awareness: Noticing when I’m resisting the climb. Is it fear? An old habit? Or just the comfort of pedaling on flat ground?

2️⃣ Adaptability: Shifting gears, literally and figuratively. Progress comes from practicing new habits, not just thinking about them. (This part always feels messy at first, but that’s how you gain momentum.)

3️⃣ Flexibility: Almost every new stretch of road feels uncomfortable in the beginning. That’s normal. Flexibility is about staying open and reminding myself the discomfort doesn’t last forever.

4️⃣ Bravery: The hardest, but most rewarding part: choosing to take the harder path willingly, even when it feels steep or inconvenient, because deep down you know it’s the one that leads somewhere better.

And the end result? A stronger body, a healthier mind, and a deeper sense of self-worth.

Food for thought: change is like those tough miles on the bike, temporary discomfort that makes the whole journey worthwhile.

So when change is calling, don’t fight it. Welcome it… and enjoy the ride. 🚴‍♀️💪

Today, Friday night date night = gym night. We cranked the music, hit the weights, and turned it into a party workout. Because around here, it’s simple: Shape it (lift) & Shake it (dance) = the ultimate Gym Fiesta. 🏋️‍♀️💃🔥

Today I want to honor and celebrate my amazing client and friend Abby on her 53th birthday!
I’m beyond grateful and proud to witness her transformation, inside and out. Watching her grow stronger, healthier, and more confident has been truly inspiring 💪💖
Here’s her testimony in her own words:

“In August 2024, I joined Lift for Life to prioritize my health for my kids. Having trusted Karina in the past, I knew her support would help me reach my goals. With her coaching and guidance, I overcame my initial fears of weight training and committed to the program. It’s been a year and one month, and l’ve lost about 20 pounds and dropped 3 sizes. REFLEXIONES…

It’s been a heavy week, personally and in the world.
The storms are loud, the news overwhelming, and the chaos constant. It’s easy to feel powerless.

In the pursuit of trying to ease the heaviness in my heart, and because I try my best to live to spread hope, strength, and positivity in others, I remembered a quote from Deepak Chopra: “It takes as little as 1% of a population to create positive change.” Imagine if 100 million people chose peace, kindness, laughter, gratitude, and joy. The ripple effect would be unstoppable, and the world would be transformed.

To be able to be part of that 1%, we need to work on our emotional resilience. Life’s ride isn’t always smooth, but building the strength to stay balanced keeps the storms from tipping us over. This is crucial because the qualities we want to spread, (peace, kindness, joy, love), can’t come from an empty shell. We first need to fill ourselves, strengthen our inner foundation, and nurture our own calm before we can truly share it with the world.

Here are a few practices I try to keep building my own resilience:

✔️ Set healthy boundaries: I’m learning to say yes when it feels right and no when it protects my peace. Still a work in progress 🤪

✔️ Stay open: I try to stay curious instead of rigid. Asking, “What can I learn from this perspective?” even when I don’t fully agree, helps me grow.

✔️ Gratitude & Prayer: I do my best to start and end the day noticing blessings and grounding myself in faith. Some days I nail it, some days I don’t, but I keep trying.

✔️ Recharge often: Taking mini-breaks to breathe, walk, or reflect, and planning weekly moments to refill your soul, is something I’m learning to prioritize.

Life’s ride may have bumps, hills, and headwinds, but we don’t need everyone to change, just enough of us to tip the balance. Be part of the 1%. Together, we can steady the bike, enjoy the ride, and transform the world.

REFLEXIONES:
Most people don’t want to hear this… but your health isn’t just about workouts & nutrition. It’s about your relationships too.

💛 September is about friendship, and let’s be honest, relationships can be complicated. Real ones that last require forgiveness. People will disappoint you, hurt you, or upset you, and you’ll do the same to them. That’s part of being human.

The real question isn’t “Will they mess up?” (yes, 100%).
It’s: “Am I willing to go through the ups and downs with them?” Because strong friendships and relationships aren’t built on perfection, they’re built on resilience, patience, and the willingness to repair.

And here’s the kicker: broken or heavy relationships create stress that weighs on your body just like poor sleep, bad nutrition, or skipping workouts. Strong, healthy connections fuel your energy, lower stress, and keep you going on the tough days.

So practice this:
💛 Have the courage to talk.
💛 Keep the desire to clarify.

Because silence is heavy, like rocks. Rocks turn into walls. And walls, eventually, divide.

Lasting friendships and a healthy body are built the same way: with consistent care, forgiveness, and showing up again and again.

Ask yourself today: where do I need to forgive, speak up, or reconnect?
