🚨 NYS Health Policy Summit 2025 🚨
Last week, hosted elected officials and physician leaders at our Garden City office of Spine Medicine and Surgery of Long Island to tackle the most pressing challenges in New York healthcare.

Grateful to welcome Senator Bynoe , Senator Addabbo .addabbo, Assemblyman Charles Lavine , and staff from Congressman Suozzi and Assemblywoman Solages’ offices.

From protecting private practice and reducing physician burnout to expanding ASCs and improving access to care—we covered it all.

This is just the beginning. The fight to preserve physician autonomy and restore the doctor-patient relationship in NYS is ON. 💪

Just returned from one of my favorite events of the year — Becker’s Spine, Ortho & Pain Management-Driven ASC Conference in Chicago

The highlight? Joining a powerhouse keynote panel moderated by the legendary Scott Becker: “The Time to Save American Healthcare is Now: Strategies to Restore Physician Autonomy and the Free Market in Healthcare.” Honored to share the stage with fellow physician entrepreneurs and Doctors Lounge podcast co-founders: Dr. Anthony DiGiorgio, Dr. Anish Koka, and Dutch Rojas.

Grateful to Scott Becker for not only creating this invaluable platform but also organizing intimate meetings with incredible speakers like Doc Rivers and — both of whom I had the privilege to meet in person. 🙏

An incredible evening at the Suffolk County Medical Society Annual Dinner this past week!

I’ve had the privilege of being deeply involved with SCMS for the past 8 years, and it’s been amazing to watch it grow into a true community for local physicians—one that fosters connection, mentorship, and service. 💙👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Under the leadership of our Executive Director Nicole Gerberg the society has seen transformative growth: over 100 new members, a strong financial foundation, and impactful programs like the Galentine’s Women’s Health Fair and Doctors of Tomorrow mentorship initiative in just the 2024-25 year

Spine Medicine of Long Island was proud to sponsor this year’s dinner and celebrate the remarkable momentum we’ve built together.

Uniportal foraminal endoscopic decompression! and have made me a believer. I have been doing mainly dual portal over past couple years and was skeptical about uniportal.

Dr Kim and Dr Yeung showed me how uniportal could be an easy and simple way to access those pesky foraminal disc herniations causing isolated foraminal stenosis that are hard to access from a paramedian approach.

This patient had severe thigh and calf pain from foraminal stenosis secondary to L4-5 and L3-4 disc herniations. Uniportal endoscopic foraminal decompression via elliquence was done at an ASC. Patient radicular pain resolved and he was discharged home after a couple hours observation in the PACU. 1 cm incisions x 2.

Endoscopic spine surgery whether via uniportal or biportal approaches allows MIS spinal surgeons to be ultra precise in tackling every type and location of pathology. My algorithm now is biportal for paracentral disc herniations, lateral recess stenosis and uniportal for foraminal and far lateral disc herniations.

Had an amazing time at the Galentine’s Women’s Health Fair at the Long Island Aquarium, organized by the Suffolk County Medical Society ! It was incredible to see such a strong turnout for this event, bringing together independent practices and major hospital systems across Long Island to support women’s health.

Our practice, Spine Medicine and Surgery of Long Island , was proud to be part of this initiative. Special shoutout to our own Dr. Antigone Argyriou, who spoke about Treatment of Compression Fractures in Osteoporosis, a condition that disproportionately affects women.

Huge congratulations to Nicole Gerberg , Executive Director of Suffolk County Medical Society, for organizing such a successful and impactful event!

Spent an impactful day in Albany advocating for policies that protect private practice viability in New York—because when independent physicians thrive, patient access to quality care improves. Honored to meet Assemblyman whose leadership and advocacy have inspired many, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Grateful for the opportunity to engage with legislators and push for a healthcare system that works for both doctors and patients.

It was an incredible experience to connect with colleagues from across the country, all dedicated to advocating for our patients and our profession. A big thank you to all the amazing clinicians—our valued chiropractors, and physical therapists as well as other friends of the practice—who joined us at the Educational Cadaver Lab Experience hosted by Spine Medicine and Surgery of Long Island ! 🙌

Dr. Toombs and I had a fantastic time connecting with everyone, sharing our passion, and diving into what we love most: minimally invasive spinal surgery.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to demonstrate the latest advanced spine surgical techniques techniques and discuss the latest innovations in spine care with such an engaged and enthusiastic audience. Your dedication to learning and providing the best for your patients is truly inspiring!
