Tonight the moon will turn a deep red during a total lunar eclipse 🌕🔴.
Millions of people will see this rare event as Earth’s shadow moves across the moon. The eclipse will be visible across North and South America, much of Europe and Africa, and parts of Asia. No telescope is needed, though binoculars give a sharper view.
The best way to watch is to step outside after sunset and find a dark open sky away from city lights. The eclipse begins in the evening, with the red peak happening between 9 PM and midnight depending on your location.
Look toward the eastern horizon and watch as the moon slowly transforms before your eyes.
