Update: The Department of Education is looking to limit the degrees that are considered professional for student loan limits, including social work. This means that “non-professional” degrees will have lower student loan limits. NASW is alarmed by this action and will work to reverse it. “This is a time when we need all social workers to speak up. We want to let everyone, including policymakers, know about the power of social work and our profession,” said NASW CEO, Anthony Estreet, PhD, MBA, LCSW-C.
