Lutheran Social Services Prevention Team - Project LEAD is excited to announce that Tall Cop Says Stop Jermaine Galloway will be in the Sauk Valley area on April 9th at 6:00pm speaking at The Dixon: Historic Theatre. This will be FREE admission.
✨Below is the information shared from the Lee County Sheriff's Office, Dixon IL ✨
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to be partnering with the Lee County Courts, Lee County Probation Services, Lee County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Dixon Police Department to sponsor a presentation by Jermaine Galloway (a.k.a. the “Tall Cop) regarding the latest trends in drugs and alcohol use. Officer Galloway is a nationally recognized presenter in substance abuse prevention, education, and enforcement. This presentation is open to the public and will take place at the Dixon Historic Theatre on Thursday, April 9th at 6:00 p.m.
Discussion topics include cannabidiol (CBD) that is a compound found in cannabis. According to the Centers for Disease Control, CBD is not impairing and does not cause a "high." The problem is that there are different rules for “h**p” than for “marijuana” even though they are the same plant. CBD from h**p has been converted into an array of intoxicating cannabinoids including delta-7 THC, delta-8 THC, delta-9 THC, delta-10 THC, and other compounds like HHC and THCO-acetate.
Other emerging drugs are Tianeptine which is often called “gas station heroin” because of its availability in gas stations and smoke shops, and Xylazine which is a drug used in veterinary medicine as a sedative with analgesic and muscle relaxant properties.
The presentation is free and there is a QR code attached to the flier for registration
