Week 11 of our Intergenerational Program this week was full of fun, conversation, and summertime memories!

This week, we let the students choose the activity, and they picked Summertime Jingo! Residents and students spent the morning playing together, sharing stories, laughs, and conversations as the school year begins to wind down.

It has been a blessing to watch these connections and friendships grow throughout this program, and today was another great reminder of how meaningful these visits have been for everyone involved. ♥️

Hollywood Movie day was a star studded success.

Staff dressed up as famous movie characters or celebrities. The creativity, costumes and laughs made for an entertaining day for everyone!

To wrap up Nursing Home week, we also crowned the “biggest loser” of the Money Manager Challenge….and congratulations go to our fearless leader, Kelly! As part of the fun, Kelly now gets the honor of choosing the next staff challenge!

Tie Dye Day brought lots of color, laughter, and excitement today.

Staff showed off their tie dye colors, while Residents enjoyed a fun-filled morning of carnival games, and afternoon of panting flower pots. We were also entertained by a wonderful performance by Lisa the singing cowgirl, who had Residents smiling and singing along to the show.

To wrap up the fun, staff got a chance to blow off some steam with a fun wheelchair race. There was a lot of laughter and cheering from the sidelines.

Whacky Wednesday was full of fun, laughter, and great memories!

Staff showed off their creativity with all kinds of whacky outfits and attire that kept everyone smiling throughout the day. Residents also enjoy wonderful live music from Colby Tushaus, who always brings great energy and entertainment to our community.

The fun continued with a lively game of whacky table bowling, filled with cheers, friendly competition, and lots of laughs!

To top it all off, we were treated to delicious goodies during a special visit from Mrs. Patty’s Sweet Treats.

Today was Animal Day and it was a wild time!

Staff had fun showing their spirit by dressing in animal prints and even coming dressed as different animals. The smiles and laughter were everywhere!

A group of our Residents enjoyed a wonderful outing to Oxbow Park Zoo, where they got to see a variety of animals and enjoyed a beautiful day out together.

A special thank you to the Kasson Lions Club for volunteering your time, joining us on the trip, and sharing such meaningful conversations with our Residents. Your kindness and support helped make the day extra special!

We kicked off Nursing Home Week today with a fun-filled Decades Day!

Our Residents had a wonderful time with the students from Triton High School as they completed week 10 of our intergenerational program. Together the enjoyed decades trivia, shared laughs, memories and lots of friendly conversation across the generations.

Staff also joined in the fun by dressing up in different eras throughout the decades- from groovy outfits to classic styles, the creativity was amazing. To top the day, staff competed in a friendly water balloon toss challenge out in the sunshine!

Week 9 of our intergenerational program was another fun-filled morning of Bingo!

Our Residents and Students from Triton High School enjoyed spending time together playing one of everyone’s favorite games. There were lots of smiles, laughter and winning throughout the activity.

One of the best parts of the morning was seeing many of the students kindly share their winnings with the Residents, creating even more special moments and showing such thoughtfulness and compassion.

We are so grateful for the connections being built each week with our Residents and students.
