SunPorch of Dodge City proudly welcomes Amy McDonald as its new Director of Nursing. A Kiowa County native with 29 years of experience, McDonald brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to compassionate, person-centered care.
“I’m excited to join the SunPorch team, primarily because of the strong and stable leadership,” McDonald shared. “I’m also passionate about continuing to create a positive, healing environment for our residents. My love for people—and especially my desire to build meaningful relationships with older adults—has always driven my work in long-term care nursing.”
McDonald earned her nursing degree from Dodge City Community College in 1997. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of roles across long-term care, hospice, and clinic settings. She and her husband of 29 years reside in Kiowa County, where they farm and ranch. The couple has two children—a son and daughter-in-law, and a daughter.
As Director of Nursing, McDonald leads with a focus on advocacy, stewardship, and accountability—guiding care for elders, supporting staff, and engaging the wider community.
“We are thrilled to welcome Amy to the SunPorch family,” said Administrator Tosha Fields. “She has already jumped in with compassion and dedication. Her heart for serving elders aligns beautifully with our mission to provide the highest quality care and peace of mind to residents and their families.”
