Does your child need their own bed? We at SHP have already built beds for them and have teams ready to deliver to your home.
Do you or someone you know have a child or teen 3-17 that doesn’t have a bed of their own? Let us help!!! We can get you a handcrafted bed and give you one less thing to worry about.
Iowa County’s chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) wants to deliver a bed to each of your kids to help them get a good night’s sleep & give your family a little bit of peace & ease some of the heartache. Sleep is so crucial to a child’s development & wellbeing.
As a community, our caring volunteers will come together to build a twin bed(s) or bunks, deliver & set them up in your home with a mattress, pillow & all the bedding FREE so that “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town”.
Beds are not financially based; they are needs based. If your child does not have their own bed that is a need. Together let’s help you overcome that hurdle & burden and give your children their own bed to crawl into every night. Please reach out to us - Use the QR code or go to shpbeds.org to ask for a bed.

Gardening is a great way to grow fresh produce and show your little ones where foods come from! Start planting in early spring (herbs, veggies, or flowers) and talk about what you’re grateful for as you care for them. By summer, you'll have something tangible to enjoy! 🌱

Don’t have the yard space to plant? Grow plants in pots on your windowsills instead! You can also look into community gardens and public green spaces near you to get in touch with nature in your neighborhood!

Omega-3 fatty acids are a great way of supporting heart health and can be found in many WIC-approved foods! You can find them in:

🐟Canned fish like salmon and tuna
🍳Eggs and soy products like tofu
🥑Brussels sprouts and avocados

Omega-3 fats have also been shown to be important during pregnancy, as they are important building blocks of the fetal brain and retina. These foods can help reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure, and support eye health! 💕
