โžก๏ธMake your fall harvest last! ๐Ÿ‚ Stretch your fruits and veggies with these simple storage tips so your WIC benefits go further:
๐Ÿ Apples: Store in the fridge in a perforated bag.
๐Ÿฅ• Carrots: Remove greens and keep in a sealed container in the fridge.
๐Ÿฅ’ Squash: Summer squash stays fresh 3โ€“5 days in the fridge. Winter squash? Keep in a cool, dry spot for a month or longer.

July is National Picnic Month! ๐ŸŒž Whatโ€™s better than sunshine, fresh air, and delicious food shared with your favorite people? Whether itโ€™s at the park or in your backyard, picnics are the perfect way to make sweet summer memories! We have a few healthy and kid friendly picnic ideas:
๐ŸŒˆ Snack boxes: Create a rainbow with nutritious snacks like cherry tomatoes, berries, cucumbers, cheese cubes, and whole-grain crackers.
๐ŸŒฏ DIY wraps: Food is easier to eat when it's all wrapped up! Roll up turkey, hummus and veggies, or peanut butter and jelly in whole-wheat tortillas.
๐Ÿ‰ Frozen fruit pops: Blend yogurt with fruit, freeze in molds, and pack in a cooler for a refreshing treat!
