James E. Ryel, 86, of the Town of Salisbury, New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday night, September 3, 2025 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329, Cremations and Funerals. A funeral service will be held immediately after at 6 p.m. also at the funeral home with Pastor Duane Holmes officiating. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 12 p.m. (noon) at Riverside Cemetery in Copenhagen, New York, 3018 Cataract Street, Copenhagen, New York 13626, where he will be laid to rest next to his father, Eugene. Members of the United States Navy will accord funeral honors at the cemetery.

Ruth M. Garrison, 88, of the Town of Danube, Little Falls, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, August 29, 2025 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 512 East Gansevoort Street, Little Falls, New York 13365 with Father Joe Famulare, pastor officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, Little Falls, New York.

Calling hours for Brian F. Pettengill, 63, who passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a funeral service to be held immediately after at 4 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329.

Brian will be laid to rest with his father, Fred, on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Rural Park Cemetery in Inghams Mills, New York.

The family will host a Celebration of Life Reception following the burial at the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone wishing to contribute to the Celebration of Life Reception, contact Amy Murphy at 315-868-3131 by text only to help organize, provide food or set up. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m., immediately following the calling hours, also at the funeral home with his brother-in-law, Kenneth R. Allen, Jr., officiating.

Rest In Peace Mr. Paul F. Gridley, Sr.

Paul F. Gridley, Jr., 76, of Auburndale, Florida and formerly of Cobleskill, New York, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, August 3, 2025 with his loving family by his side.

He is survived by his companion, Karen Butler of Auburndale, FL; two sons, Robert Gridley and his wife, Noelle of Dolgeville, NY and Steven Gridley and his wife, Alison of Roseboom, NY ; two step-children, Jody Butler of FL and Christina Butler of NC; a daughter-in-law, Melissa Gridley of Cooperstown, NY; seven grandchildren; Jonathan, Oliver, Adalynn, Carter, Asher, Madison, and Ethan; a brother, Gary Gridley of Cobleskill, NY; The Gridley Family cousins; and countless friends who felt like family.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Jacqueline Gridley and his canine companion, Zelda.

In keeping with family wishes, there will be a private graveside service at Prospect Cemetery in Howe’s Caves, New York where he will be laid to rest with his parents.
