It may look like a lot… and truthfully, it is a lot. There have been moments of supplement fatigue, moments where I’ve stared at my bowls and thought, “this is a commitment.” But this is what has carried me through, and I’m grateful to have something to lean on, and we believe this is why I am doing so well.
My diet has been just as intentional. Bone broth, sauerkraut, plenty of protein, vegetables, and fruit in my shakes have become my daily rhythm. When my sweet tooth shows up, I reach for dates or mangoes—simple, whole foods that still feel like a treat.
Being in the oncology setting has opened my eyes in ways I didn’t expect. I see many patients being offered foods like Kind bars (a glorified candy bar), candy, candy bars, sodas, crackers, and puddings—things that are convenient and familiar, but highly processed and sugar laden. I share this not from a place of judgment, and certainly not because I believe I am perfect. Every person is doing the best they can with the information, energy, and support they have in that moment.
I am simply doing what we know how to do, and what aligns with our lifelong belief in nourishing the body with whole foods and intentional support. If anything, I hope my journey gently opens the door for conversation and curiosity. If it helps even one person pause, ask a question, or consider a different path toward healing, then it is worth sharing.
