The Donegal Centre The Donegal Centre opened its doors on August 1, 2011. We are licensed by the Department of Education and the Department of Public Welfare. preparation.

Currently, we have a 78 bed capacity (42 residential/36 Independent Living) for females ages 14-21. PROGRAMS:

Independent Living Program:

Our Independent Living Program offers immediate assistance for females ages 16-21 who are in need of independent living skills. Youth will receive educational assistance, financial planning, housing assistance, life skills training, career planning, as well as

self-care, social relationships, work, communication and study skills. Residential Program:

Our Residential Unit will serve adjudicated and delinquent females ages 14-21. The Residential Unit will provide a safe, staff secure atmosphere for our youth to obtain the necessary services including completing the requirements of their probation, such as restitution and community service. Family Programming:

All youth and their families will be offered on-site family programming one time per month. The Donegal Centre highly encourages parents and guardians to be active in the recovery process. We have designated overnight rooms to assist families in need in order to accommodate participation. Education:

The Donegal Education Centre is licensed as an approved private academic school. We offer special education services on-site. The school provides core classes in Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, along with electives in Computers/Keyboarding, and Art. All youth that attend The Donegal Education Centre will be assessed by a Licensed Psychologist. The Donegal Education Centre will also offer credit recovery courses on-site, along with G.E.D. We also work on a case by case basis with the local school district so that our youth may attend public school. Vocation:

The Donegal Centre in collaboration with Westmoreland County Community College will offer a Nurse's Aide Program. Youth must be 16 or older to enter the program. Youth will be instructed using classroom, lab, and clinical hands-on experience. Once youth successfully complete the program, they will be tested to be placed on the Nurse Aide Registry of Pennsylvania. The Culinary Arts Program consists of 120 hours of hands on experience along with classroom instruction. Once a youth successfully completes the culinary program, they will be provided the opportunity to take the Serve Safe test.
