So many questions, so little time!⏳

We know it can seem like we are asking so many questions but your answers provide critical information that helps us determine what type and how much help to send. Once a location has been determined, an emergency response is initiated.

💡Answering the call taker's questions does NOT delay help!

Emergencies can be stressful so remember, the more information you can provide, the easier it will be for us to help you when seconds count!⏰

🚑Jenn Vantiger - Full-time EMT in Donnellson🚑

1. How long have you worked in EMS?
-EMS a little over a year, I've been a respiratory therapist since 2009

2. Who has been the biggest influence on your career path, and why?
- It really wasn't a person, but an opportunity. I worked at Henry County as a RT and a patient needed transferred, I had an opportunity to be a team member in the back and I think that's when I think i wanted to make a switch to pre-hospital care, I just didn't know how.

3. What are you most passionate about outside of work?
- I like hanging out with my husband, dogs and horses.

4. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
- I wouldn't mind trying moto-camping or overlanding out west at least once.

5. You win the lottery! What’s the first thing you would do?
- Let's just say....there will be signs

6. Describe a funny or memorable moment you’ve had with a colleague.
- When I first started at Lee County, we got called to an accident and I made an absolute mess of putting on my bunker gear. I literally had to have my partner help me out the pants and unravel me like I was a toddler. Let's just say if I was ever wondering about moonlighting as a firefighter, the question was quickly answered right then and there.

7. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
- riding my horses or hitting up a weekend rodeo or barrel race during the summer. When the weather falls below 60⁰ you will find me under blankets and hibernating until spring.

8. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
- You are your worst critic, don't be so hard on yourself.

9. If you could learn any skill instantly, what would it be?
- Directions

10. What advice would you give someone just starting their career in your field?
- Never drive past a Dairy Queen

🚑Alli Campbell- Full Time AEMT in Donnellson🚑

Today is Alli’s last day with us at LCEMS. She is moving to Omaha to begin PA school at UNMC. Please help us in congratulating Alli and wishing her well at PA school!

From Alli: “Today is my last day in EMS, and I want to say a quick thank you to Lee County EMS for helping me learn and grow as a healthcare provider, and thank you to all my coworkers for the support and encouragement they've given me on my PA school journey.”

1. How long have you worked in EMS?
-I became an EMT seven years ago and got my Advanced EMT certification two years ago to provide a higher level of care for my patients.

-My parents have always pushed me to do my best and provided me with every opportunity to follow my passions and interests. I am where I am today because of them. Love you guys!

outside of work?
- I love to crochet and knit! I'm also an avid traveler and scuba diver.

4. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

5. You win the lottery! What’s the first thing you would do?
- If I won the lottery, I would first pay off my house and PA school loans, then I'd give the rest to our local animal shelters so they can continue doing amazing work.

6. Describe a funny or memorable moment you’ve had with a colleague.
- I have so many great memories with every one of my coworkers. We are with each other for 24 hours at a time, so we are bound to laugh a lot. Shout out to my EMS partners Ellie and Billy, you guys are the best.

7. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
-I like to crochet while watching NCIS, cook, and play video games with my husband and friends.

8. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
-Never judge a book by its cover. It's said all the time, but I think it's so important to remember, especially as a healthcare provider.

9. If you could learn any skill instantly, what would it be?
-I wish I could learn languages quickly. I love learning new languages, and it would be awesome to be able to become fluent fast.

10. What advice would you give someone just starting their career in your field?
-Never be afraid to ask for help and always utilize your resources. Nobody can know everything, and that's ok. You have to lean on your colleagues and continue learning every day to be successful in EMS.
