Two of our HCN Associates, Karen Iversen and Becky Jenks, were on the Epic campus last week working toward their Epic Ambulatory Certification. Epic Certifications are what make us stronger and better equipped to support our health centers with Epic Powered by HCN, ensuring our teams bring the highest level of expertise to the table. HCN is proud to see our team continuing to grow their skills to better support our health centers and the communities they serve.

Health Choice Network was proud to be in attendance for Premier Community HealthCare Group, Inc.’s 5th Annual Community Impact Breakfast. The breakfast was a great opportunity to celebrate Premier and support all they do to provide essential healthcare services to those who need it most. This year’s theme, Care that Grows with You, was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact community health centers have, providing care that adapts, supports, and grows alongside the patients and families they serve. Congratulations to Premier on another successful event and for the incredible work they continue to do every day.

HCN is excited to share that our Chief Applications & Innovation Officer, Oscar Perez, is speaking as a panel member at the FIU AI 305 Conference on September 12th! The session, Smarter Care – How AI is Transforming the Patient Journey, will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the way patients experience care, from smarter decision-making to more personalized support along every step of the journey. HRSA has released the 2024 Community Health Quality Recognition (CHQR) Badges and HCN is proud of our Health Centers' success! Our Network health centers and safety-net organizations received 182 Quality Awards collectively, with 42% of our health centers receiving 3 or more Quality Recognition badges! HCN is honored to be featured in the 2025-2026 edition of The Epic Almanac! The article, FQHCs Bring Whole-Person Care to Underserved Communities, highlights the incredible work of community health centers and discusses how FQHCs leverage Epic through collaboratives like HCN. It specifically featured one of our health centers, Tampa Family Health Centers, and highlights the work they do to advance whole-person care. The article does a great job of shedding light on how community health centers make care more accessible and sustainable by tackling food insecurity, supporting multilingual communication through MyChart, streamlining team workflows, and using automated digital tools - all to deliver whole-person care to underserved communities.

Health Choice Network is proud to share that a new article based on a recent study by Health Choice Network and Moffitt Cancer Center has been published in The Cancer Letter! Co-authored by HCN’s Chief Community Research Officer, Dr. Katherine Chung-Bridges, the article explores how patients affected by cancer are using AI tools during their care journeys and highlights the importance of safeguards to prevent risks like misinformation and confusion. This research is an important step toward building safer, smarter digital support for patients.
