EMI America Medical Equipment Keeping updated with the latest Diagnostic Imaging Equipment; Digital Radiography, X Ray, CT, MRI, e

Having installed in 1975 the first GE CT Scanner in Latin America ( just invented by G. Hounsfield at EMI, a company owned by the Beattles) it has been always a challenge to keep up with the technological changes in Diagnostic Imaging specially CT, XR and Digital Imaging. The first CT Scanner was used to scan brains only (not moving anatomy) in 3 minutes each 10 mm slice with a Resolution of almos

t 1mm (pixel size). Today the whole body are scanned in a few seconds with a Resolution measured in Microns (thousanths of mm) with other devices looking at the molecules and atoms. The company continues to transfer this new technology to Latin America trying to keep the costs down to the poor economies.

The first CT Scanner was used to scan brains only (not moving anatomy) in 3 minutes each 10 mm slice with a Resolution of almost 1mm (pixel size). Today the whole body are scanned in a few seconds with a Resolution measured in Microns (thousanths of mm) with other devices looking at the molecules and atoms.
