Vanessa Bolanos Fernandez is the Founder/Director of Children's Behavior Therapy, Inc. She has a Masters in Clinical Social Work with a certification in Applied Behavior Analysis. Children’s Behavior Therapy” provides behavioral and social services to children and families within the community. Vanessa has a background in macro and micro-level social work. Her macro-level experience involves work with the Department of Children and Families (Children’s Mental Health Division) as a District Manager for foster care and in-patient psychiatric programs within Miami-Dade. Her micro-level experience consists of providing applied behavior analysis services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Her practicum experience consists of working directly with children and families who have experienced trauma and co-occurring disorders. Vanessa has provided individual, family and group therapies within clinics, schools, homes and school settings. Vanessa's specialty lies within the work that she has done with children ages 0-5, providing early intervention services. Throughout the last 10 years, she has worked with typically developing children as well as children with Autism & other related disabilities teaching new skills, modifying challenging or dangerous behaviors & training and consulting with parents & teachers on child development & positive discipline.Vanessa has provided individual, family & group therapies to children & families who have survived domestic violence during her practicum experience. She has worked within a variety of childcare programs providing consultation & training to teachers within the classroom. Consultation & training has been provided to parents on separation or divorce, adjustment to new settings, teaching effective discipline, etc. Vanessa currently works within the community providing Applied Behavior Analysis Services. She works directly with children and trains caregivers, teachers and therapists on child development and applied behavior analysis.

Taking that first step is the hardest decision to make. Don’t think about it too much. Trust your instincts and take that leap of faith. Once you get going you will wonder why you didn’t act sooner. You will remember the day that you feared doing what you’ve now mastered. Search deep to find the ‘new fear’ and take another step forward. Trust the process.
